I'm mostly open, but techno and inspirational sounding songs are fun(Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, that song by Waldo's people). I hate most rap, country and R&B, because it all sounds the same.

Country Sounds the same as Rap and R&b, are you high. Country is waaaayyyyy of from that. And if I mixed up and it just means all country sounds the same then that is also wrong. Try listening to diferent artists and yyou'll get a better picture.

I've been trying to get into Trance music, but aside from DJ Tiesto and a few random artists, it's proving futile.

I mostly listen to rock; from both sides of the spectrum (i.e.- from Radiohead to Disturbed.) As for hip-hop, I try to avoid the mainstream crap and stay with the indie stuff (i.e.- Busdriver, etc), since it has that old school charm I love so much.

Every other genre has been hit or miss. I've been listening to a lot of Billy Talent, Rancid, and Rise Against lately, since I'm going to see them in a few weeks.

Progressive rock, especially British prog-rock from the the seventies. I also enjoy classical rock, jazz, some metal and classical music.

Edit: Oh, and some folk music too. It really depends on the mood.

-Underground Hip-Hop
-Jazz
-Alternative (metal, rap, indie)
-Nerdcore Hip-Hop
-Indie
-Blues
-Country and Western
-Old school Heavy Metal
-Orchestrated

I guess you can say all subgenres of rap music (all 41 of them, despite some of the ones I don't agree with or truly appreciate). I also like SOME subgenres of rock (other forms of metal) but there are a few I don't like (grindcore, death metal) because it's a bit too much for me.

I think what he was getting at is that all country sounds the same, all rap sounds the same and all R&B sounds the same. I disagree with the first, and wholeheartedly agree with the two others.
