I'm pretty well rounded, but I'm centered around rock.

As for specific artists, I've been listening to Ken Ashcorp for a few days. He makes songs about subjects that wouldn't ever get mainstream attention, and I love them even when I'm not involved in the subject. For example, he wrote a song about Zack Ryder of WWE Raw (which I've never seen in my life). I can't get it out of my head.

As an added bonus, here's a Pokemon song:

and a brony song:

I'm an electronica freak.

I dabble in most other genres, too, but that's my mainstay.

Lately I've been really into Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' as recommended by the lovely Dangit.
They don't call me the Freshest Pimp of the Escapist for nothing.

Really into Prog at the moment, particularly this song

as well as Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree.

I've always been into Metal though - Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Sabaton... the usual

Trust me, most people here will be metal fans, it's generally not my cup of tea though.

I'm into prog-rock, post-rock, classical, orchestral, instrumental, post-metal (Only one band from that genre though), a little bit of standard rock, the occasional electronic song and genre mash-ups of the previously listed lot tend to be brilliant.

Tell me that isn't a great mash-up of electronic/modern music and orchestral.

I like lots of metal and I tend to prefer things created with proggy sensibilities - ie lots of care and attention to every detail, developed musical ideas and so on, rather than things with a more 'punk' ethos.
But particularly good lyrics or vocals can save a song that isn't great musically.

Favourite bands include Mastodon, Tool, Gojira, Muse, Opeth, Between The Buried and Me, Animals as Leaders. I like my solo guitarists too; Hendrix and Stevey Ray Vaughan and Steve Vai and Buckethead.

Outside of rock/metal, I like a few rappers such as Eminem, Dr Dre and Public Enemy. I like some electronic music- the odd bit of dubstep or drum n bass, and I also like a lot of soundtrack type stuff.

The majority of my music falls into the rock and metal spectrums.

But I'll listen to anything, as long as it's good. I've got just about everything, from Watsky (hip hop) to Scissor Sisters (pop, nu-disco) to the Black Dahlia Murder (melodic death metal) to Lemon Demon (whatever you'd call this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjCyVfBiwpE]).

The single genre from which I've never found a single song I enjoy, though, is country. EDIT: Also mathcore and drone.

What, no Working for a Nuclear Free City?
I've never heard of them, but according to the wiki they are Nu-Gaze, which is Post-Shoegaze.

I'm more into the first generation of British Shoegazing, or the later Shoegaze/Britpop crossover stuff when the original scene was dying out (like Adorable, and Moose). I'm not to heavy into the newer Post-American/British stuff, though i do like A Place to Bury Strangers, and Post-Metal like Jesu.

I'll give them a listen though, thanks.
