Rap, mostly. I don't dislike any genre entirely, but it seems that for every skilled rapper like Eminem, there is someone like Drake.

Country. I've listened to a lot of country music (not by choice) and I have not heard a single song that I like. I'm not that fond of Rap either but at least I like some of it.

Not to incite any anger, but it's gotta be Metal for me. I like a bit of metal (some Symphonic metal stuff mostly,) and I love Grunge (which is apparently a type of alternative metal(?)) but everything else goes completely over my head. I like Symphonic metal, because the heaviness of the guitars and sound is usually taken as a contrasting and/or ironic edge against the softness of the "symphonic" part of it, but otherwise, that same heaviness usually turns me right around and out the door. And it doesn't help that the general aesthetic doesn't do it for me, especially when the more ridiculous lyrical and visual aesthetics are taken 100% seriously.

I'll come out to defend what's likely the 3 most hated genres of Rap, Pop, and Country (in that order, I'm guessing.)
While Rap does have a pretty rotten half, the other half offers pretty unlimited creativity in lyrical content. And hip-hop in general can be incredibly varied, while keeping the common stylistic elements of hip-hop. You can make music with just about any feel or theme, which is what happens.
With Pop (and rock-pop, etc,) I'll defend that it accomplishes its task of being catchy. Something is needed that everyone will be able to move to from the background, and pop's necessarily got the kind of beat and lyrics that at least clicks with everyone. I'd also love it if people didn't go crazy over pop artists, but that's more an issue with the "community base" than the genre in itself.
And Country's actually something that I love. Just the general feel of the music clicks with me, if not the refreshing change it offers from other stuff. I could see why someone would not like it, but I don't really see how anyone could *hate* it.

I don't hate music genres, music is totally subjective and complaining about it is just jerkish towards the people that like the genre.

Theres genres i don't particularily enjoy, but y'know the saying "Live and let live"? Theres a lot of wisdom in that.

Also, as a hip-hop-head it feels kinda sad to see so many people who most likely don't know shit about it just talk shit and completely write it off.

I am a major metal head and as such I usually only listen to metal but I do venture out of metal a lot so I have bands from a lot of different genres. the one I listen to the least is Rap and Hip Hop I guess it's mostly because I like it when there is singing in songs and the majority of songs in rap and hip hop the guys just seem to talk to me so I never really listen to it that often.

Edit: thought of something, any song that uses auto tune has committed a cardinal sin and is almost always utter and complete shit. There are a few exceptions like if the robotic voice goes with the music but if it doesn't that means you are using it to mask your lack of musical skill.

I don't tend to go by genre since there's always a few exceptions to the rule, but saying that one genre that I've never heard a song I've enjoyed come out of is dubstep.

I'm going with rap. Granted, there are a few rap songs that I like, but most of them just sound awful to me.

I have to say Rap, Just because the most of them is just about getting laid, doing drugs, gang wars, the n word 500 times, slipping women around, etc, etc. It's like nickelback of music genres, most songs is like the same thing.

Rap
Why U Suck So Much?!

In a more coherent text; Rap, it just seems that all the god damn awful things that I hear on the radio is rap(or todays pop ,_,). I feel we all would be better without it, and better without ppl that think dressing in bag and hoodies is kewl.

Offtopic: Is anyone else having trouble with escapist telling you that certain URLs doesn't exist(Refreshing fixes it but still)?

This, kind of..

I used to hate hip hop. Correction there, I still hate most hip hop. But judging a whole genre on that is like saying metal is shit because of Papa Roach. Hip hop is an incredibly broad genre of music and you have no right to judge anything if you've only heard what's popular.

Don't particularly hate any genre, there's just some that I don't really get. I don't understand the appeal of Dubstep. I'm not particularly fond of most black metal either since the sound quality is often so poor it sounds like there's a wasps nest stuck inside the amps.

Rap. There are a few exceptions here and there. My problems with rap is that I don't really feel it, don't care about rhyming, and I've had to listen to so much bad stuff over the years so I have a negative view towards rap.

Even though I'm a metal head there are some genres of it I can't stand.

Emo, emo, emo.

As a punk rocker, I despise these little fuckers so much. They stole the music style while removing all the edge, grit, and fuck you attitude.

They stole the style and made it worse with shittier hair.

For those who hate hip-hop and rap, fuck the mainstream bullshit. The mainstream is universally shit. The stuff you don't hear on the radio can be incredible. You'll find that there are more subjects than degrading women and how fucking awesome the artist is. There are also groups that use actual instruments as opposed to synthesizing everything.

As an example

Atmosphere is almost universally good.
Flipsyde can be good.
Sage Francis is an interesting one but not really easy to listen to.
Flobots, you probably know their song Handlebars, well, they got other shit too and it's pretty damn good.

These are just my favorites, there are plenty of other good ones.

Rap. Because every rap song makes the Police look like the bad guys while those who commit crimes and do drugs are the shinning beckons of light we should follow. No. Criminals are the Covenant and the Police are the UNSC. Also their music just sounds horrible. But mostly the police thing.

Electronic music. Or most bands/groups with a DJ. They just don't sound like songs to me, because groups like the Venetian Snares are just random computerized drum beats with no coherency whatsoever.

I'm usually not to fond of Rap, but I enjoy hip-hop.
