You could always just turn it up to 11, that'd do the trick (movie reference)

I'd duel wield clarinets personally
I believe the movie you are referring to is "this is spinal tap" i can has cookie?
either a cookie or a cucumber wrapped in tin foil (same film)
A decision? I asked for a cookie!

Bass. Hands down.

One solid hit and you could probably turn someone's skull into soup
or a crushed skull

A bass guitar, they tend to be a bit more solid than a normal guitar, and cymbal for a shield.

Please, this should be obvious. You would have to use...The almighty Bag Pipes!!

You wouldn't even have to do anything, just blow into it and all the people shall be driven mad the the squeals and ungodly noises!

The violikatana. A violin, with a katana cunningly taped to the underside.

Of course, this does make it slightly dangerous for the violikatanaist to play but hey, who said music was easy?

Oops, I forgot to mention the organ gun! Not strictly a musical instrument, but it's sounds like one when you say it and would probably hurt someone on the wrong end of it.

A piano, just drop it on em.
/thread. Or an organ.

As mentioned above, a guitar would be very effective. Or if you want ridiculously long weapons, try an oboe. A few swings could take out street gangs.
You do know that an oboe is relatively small right?
Sorry, did not do the research. Just saw one in music and thought it was big.

Replace it with any exceptionally large non-stationary (i.e. not a piano or organ) instrument.

Chainsaws are pretty musical. I nominate them.
A friend of mine suggested the musical electric chair. It can only be used once per person, sadly.

Would be cool to play ode to joy on it.

Nevan from Devil May Cry 3.

It's my favorite color, and it shoots lightning AND bats!
/thread.

If you meant a real instrument, then I'd go with

Either way, I'd still play 1812 Overture on somebodies face.

With sufficient strength and ropes tied to it, a piano. Same thing with a pipe organ, but without teh ropes.
....
You do know how big pipe organs are, right?
Watch this starting at 7 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvJFiHvotlQ
THAT IS HOW YOU FREAKING DO IT.
Oh, and it's in English so FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR VERY EXISTENCE KEEP THE SOUND OFF.
You still don't get it.
Imagine something three times the size of your parents house.
That's made of metal
I don't think it's really that big.
