Hank, that's what I wanted to call one of my cats, but the rest of the family didn't agree with it.
She was female btw.

I'd go with something specific to the animal. Par examplugh I called one of my cats Whiskey 'cause he has mighty whiskers.
Or just call it something nice and simple. Like my other cat, "Tina".

schrodinger, makes you sound clever and well informed. Also you can keep him in a box in the name of science. (this was the option I gave to a previous thread about this my next idea is more original)

How about LT. Spottysides

I once read that cats respond more to names containing the letter 's', which might be worth taking into consideration. Personally I'd probably pick something Egyptian, due to the cat's ancestry. Or I'd make a pun on the latin name of a prehistoric cat - a name with a story behind it is nice - but that's me.

Edit: As for the prehistoric cat name - you can call him Smiley, short for Smilodon, which is a type of sabertooth tiger.

Edit 2: They even look somewhat alike --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Smilodon_fatalis_life-restoration_%2708.jpg

The name is Chavsky. When anyone asks who it is, say it's a brilliant writer they've never heard of because they're a filthy uncultured peasant. FYI, I'm not telling you who Chavsky is, either.

Call 'im 'Cat'

I call my cat that all the time, even though that's not his name... it's a good name methinks...
