What non-physical things attracts you to a girl/guy?

I think I would be attracted to a girl who is artistic and passionate about the things she does. Also, someone who I can empathize with and has a good personality. When I say good personality, I mean kind, happy, considerate, and a slight "bad girl" side to her as well.

I like guys that are cynical and bitter, but at the same time don't take themselves too seriously. You know, the really tragic guys, who want to hate everything but are unable to ignore the irony and absurdity of it either.

Upshot of it is, I like the kind of guy who would stay the fuck away from me, and who I would only have to meet in books.

Shyness.

Usually something that comes unintentionally, and is hard to break through; but beneficial for girls to guys with certain interest. Ironically, girls often seem to have the opposite interest.

she has to be smart, witty and intelligent (about the same as me; it sucks if one of us is subchallenged, and yes, there certainly are women more intelligent than me), and be able to step up for herself; having sort of a big mouth does help regarding that ^^
quite the opposite of that, a rather quiet and "humble" type potentially is pretty interesting, too (i don't mean simply shy, but rather someone who does talk when she has something to say)
being able to make stupid jokes and kid around are great qualities, too

oh, and her hobbies shouldn't be make up & make-up related magazines

Hell, most of the things that attract me to a girl are non-physical. Basically I want a girl I can have long discussions with about any number of topics but also a girl I can geek out with over nerdy things and plot evil or outrageous hypothetical situations. A girl that stimulates my mind and makes me laugh.

Being involved in some kind of sport or other physical hobby (ie, running, hiking, rock climbing), or at least making an honest attempt at taking care of their body. Having a common hobby is vital - there's got to be something that we can actively engage in together when the conversational river runs dry. I also tend to be attracted to women who show kindness to people in need (ie: by doing volunteer charity work, or giving blood) or to kids - qualities that would make them a good mother.
