ITT: 'cool to hate' bandwagons.
It's very annoying that bands people dislike are constantly referred to as 'gay' or 'fags'. How 'bout everyone shuts the fuck up with that kind of remark? If they haven't come out as homosexual, it's unfounded and potentially libellous. If they have, it's homophobic abuse. Either way it makes you an idiot. Feel free to express your disdain for them, but get a better vocabulary.
So... as for what I hate, well, not a lot really. There's plenty of stuff I can't bring myself to care about, either because it's not aimed at people like me (Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, other Disney stuff, rap, R&B, etc) or because it's just so laughably bad it doesn't warrant my attention (Westlife, Steps, that sort of lark). So we're left with stuff that could potentially be aimed at me and is bad enough to just be bad without turning the corner into comedy. And stuff that has a lot of irritating fanboys who'll jump on you en masse for the slightest negative comment. I reckon that gives us:
Nickelback
Dragonforce
Coldplay (although, in retrospect, 'Viva La Vida' and 'In My Place' were good songs)
U2 (largely due to Bono)
The Ting Tings
The Enemy
Theory Of A Deadman
Chris Cornell (mainly due to disappointment regarding his recent stuff, Soundgarden were phenomenal and I still regard him among my top three favourite singers of all time)
...probably more, but this is already turning into a bit of a wall o' text so I'll cut it there.
