I would have to say the alcohol has a big part to do with it, but also if the person is an idiot even when sober, it is for the most part only going to get worse when they are drunk. It is in part the alcohol, but like that one person said earlier (sorry can't remember who it was at the moment), the person responsible has to be accountable as well. Unless you have been living in a cave, you know what effects it will have on your judgement, and it is the person's responsibility to know their limits.

I wish I knew what compells my friends (and other people) to act like idiots when drunk. I drink fairly often and yet I dont behave like an ass when drunk. I just talk a lot more.

In other words: People are stupid by nature, alcohol just lets them act that way without fear of being judged.
I completely agree. Alltho I think people can behave normally when under the influence of alcohol, if they really want to (except for their motor functions, they really can't help that bit). They just don't want to.

Umm...The whole Alcohol part?

Generally when drunk, I just talk a lot more and a lot louder, usually about "serious" stuff, then I see some grapes burst out laughing. I also sing. Badly.

To tell you the truth I'm not a huge alcohol that much. I'll drink it with my friends so as not to be left out but I generally prefer, as Yahtzee puts it a "herbal bath".

I can't deny that being drunk makes me act a fair bit more stupidly than normal. But damn it if I don't enjoy it!

On top of what everyone else said, alcohol is also a depressant.
Actually, some studies have shown that moderate consumption can apparently reduce the risk of depression. Works for me, that`s for sure. The dosage is the most important factor here :)

Booze works differently for different people. One guy forgets his worries, another gets the sudden urge to punch someone in the face.

there was study done where they had kegs of non-alcoholic beer and didn't tell anyone and people where doing all sorts of crazy stuff because they were "fucked up" even though in real life they were completely sober. There were people like fighting, getting naked, screwing random people, and all sorts of other good stuff. A lot of that behavior happens because people have this impression that being drunk means doing those things and/or losing control.

I don't drink.... Anything specifically designed to make me less aware of my surroundings is obviously made by someone who is trying to kill me.

Wow a depressant doesn't make people depressed, it depresses the central nervous system that is why it helps with depression to a degree. Some of the best and most effective anti-depressants are powerful depressants.......

I get it now. I thought a depressant was the opposite of an anti-depressant. Not that simple, eh? It`s getting too complicated, let`s have a drink.

This made me laugh ^_^

It's so hilariously, pathetically true, this.
Yeah, that's why I don't drink.
Nobody needs to see Max at his Maxiest.
That would cause...unspeakable horror.
Cthulhu himself can merely balk at it.
BALK.
Well if you ever do get Maxed out to the Max on alcohol, would you kindly log on and make a couple posts? Hopefully you'd be able to dodge the banhammer attack with "I wasn't thinking straight- I was drunk!"

"Without fear of being judged"- unless you've got a wonderful friend like me who will remind you of what an ass you were for the next month. Not that that registers once they start drinking.

If the study was done in the Bible Belt, that explains the results. This actually reminds me of this big fat stupid dumb girl who I couldn't stand. She was the first to start drinking at a party, and within a couple minutes of her first sip of beer was acting like a complete drunken moron. There was no way she was drunk when she started acting like it, but I think in her pea-sized non-funcional retar head she thought she had an excuse to act ridiculous because she had had something to drink.

Alcohol releases ALL human inhibition...that's all there is to it! All I can say is thank God for its existence!
