Oh, and for future reference, the most annoying thing about your OP was this punctuation problem; the "..." or "Ellipsis" is always three dots exactly, and is always followed by a space.
Are you sure about that rule? I have never heard it before and everywhere I see them they are followed immediately by whatever should come next (examples: "Hello...?", "...Hello?", "Text from a paragraph...Some from later on.").

Well yeah, both are completely legitimate. If you can't rush a sniper, you can't really win against them now can you? I know someone who almost exclusively plays sniper class in TF2 and CoD4, and he always gets annoyed whenever he gets backstabbed, set on fire from behind or scattergunned to death in TF2, or get's shotgunned in COD.

But you know what? Sniper rifles are overpowered. You can't have an overpowered class, that would be no fun. Snipers trade their short range capability for their long range capability. And that makes the game fun - rushers and campers all have their weaknesses and strengths (at least they would in an ideal game).

As for "time they shoot you in the face before you can do anything...this really ticks me off." Well, I sometimes get annoyed when as a heavy I get killed in one shot before I can do anything, just as I'm about to get ubered.

As for dealing with Rusher's regardless of class - if they're giving you that much trouble just be one yourself, or persuade other team-mates to be one as well. Rushers are usually weak to planted explosives, or long range weapons. If someone is rushing straight towards you with a shot gun and you have an assault rifle, just shoot him/her to death. They'll usually go down before they can get to you.

Didn't read, due to a lack of paragraphing.

I'm sure your argument was well stated.

The fist two examples weer correct, but the third one should have had a space. It works just like any punctuation that can be used to end a sentence.

What annoys me in FPS games - specifically the war-themed titles - is the fact that 100% of the time, the in game characters who don't wear their helmets leave the game without a scratch, while those soldiers who actually think its a good idea to have a piece of metal covering your brain end up getting treated like Red Shirts.

I hate online FPS to the point where I have just plain given them up,that inclueds America's army, CS,TF2, BFwhatever, Quake Wars, SOCOM you name it. I'm always a late adapter, and I find that everyone else is always on a much higher tier than me, so I can never enjoy the damned game, in the case of TF2 I think it's becaus my brother is an achievment whore so my level is always artificially high.

Ah, right you are indeed. I am in awe of your mastery of the English language.

I can handle most things in FPS's. I however hate having that one very loud person who magically has a headset who keeps on talking. They must also, for whatever reason, announce each kill they get and make weird gun-noise-brain-splatting-noises. Or perhaps I am just too quiet, yeah I think that is it. :p

People need to tailer their strategy based on what weapon they are using. Snipers should remain in a vantage point, people with shotguns and smgs should be on the front lines, rushing enemies. And assault rifle classes should use the accuracy of thier weapon to keep a distance from the enemy, while keeping on the move.

When people try to use the same tactics with different classes is when it gets ridiculous.

Um, I didn't really get your rant... If you meant what I think you meant then I would agree. See, what I understood was, you would like to have a fight in an fps that would feel like a movie, but every other player ruins it for you by doing stupid, un-movie-like stuff, like rushing to their deaths and camping. I've felt this way a few times too... Especially in Battlefield 2. Of course I may have misunderstood what you were trying to say, so feel free to correct me.

Hey you may be getting flamed for your train of consciousness writing but you're in good company, Gabe Newell's comment in the last paragraph was pretty incoherent as well:

:D

I did feel it was appropriate to try to read your post instead of pretentiously dismissing it though (I guess having kids has made me more tolerant of people's writing style), and I do understand where you're coming from...

PLEASE STOP COMMENTING ON SPELLING i tried my best, but I am not going to flip out a dictionary and check every word for spelling! i don't particularly care that much. You could read it, couldn't you?
Yes, but no-one knows what your point is.
