In games, unhurried and unguided exploration of wide open spaces.

Other than that, if I'm depressed I watch Star Trek and let the goodness and idealism wash over me. TNG is the best for this - there's nothing like a Picard speech to make you feel all will be right with the world.

Heavy Metal, especially progressive metal.

"It's not repulsive; it's soothing." to quote Cowboy Bebop.
This! So much this! I actually listen to metal when I have trouble sleeping
One of my friends actually feel asleep listening to dragonforce on his ipod at a loud volume.
I play Disturbed as a lullaby, it really helps me relax. I've fallen asleep listening to metal several times, sometimes during class.

The big one for me is folk-based music. The calm soothing sort of stuff. This is the best example for me:

Hearing the rain on the roof is also a big thing that relaxes and calms me. Another would be playing a good looking game, and just roaming around. Risen 2 for example, just walking around the beach seeing the silhouettes of the palm trees against the orange sunset sky and hearing the waves run onto the land.

Music and the sound of rain on the roof are up there, but the number one is the sound of peepers (they're little frogs if you didn't know). During the summer, they never shut up, and I couldn't be happier about that. Neko Case knows what I'm talking about:

The gentle rocking of a boat in harbour or anchored in a bay. It was strange and uncomfortable at first but pretty soon I got used to the sensation and it became quite enjoyable.

Slow relaxing music is good too. I have a collection of this type of music taken from various movies, anime and games. very serene.

Being near water out somewhere natural. Also have to agree with the rainfall idea others brought up.

Music's a tough one simply because I enjoy music most when it provides a variety of feelings, when it has a sort of ebb and flow. I do love Jean-Michel Jarre's piece called "En Attendent Cousteau." Totally brilliant and relaxing.

And, of course, sex. Well, not the sex itself I suppose but the release of tension and the laying in your lower's arms afterward. Combine that with a rainstorm and you're just about in relaxation heaven.

Well, at the moment I am sitting outside on a lounger. The weather is warm and the breeze is subtle. I am sipping on a delicious cocktail that is composed of White Rum, Galiano, Simple Syrup and a bit of lemon. On my lap sits my laptop as I use her to browse all my favorite sites and blogs, as well as take some simple notes on the novella I am writing, as I sit under the shade.

To my left is a fair quality radio playing soothing jazz music, whilst the birds from a nearby walnut tree sing back-up. A novella I was reading lays on the ground after having spent many hours blissfully losing myself in the fantasical narrative, whilst indulging myself with a juicy apple and fresh orange juice.

So far it is shaping up to be a relaxing day, if I do say so myself.

Being inside a house or car when there's really heavy rain outside.

The smell of freshly cut grass on a warm Summer day (I know the smell is obviously impossible to create in a game but whatever).

Games with no sense of urgency or skill required are the most relaxing. Pokemon games have turn-based combat, so I can watch TV or relax in my bed and still play the game without failing or concentration. I know it's not a very relaxing game, but there are definitely some features that would definitely make a game more relaxable.

The instrumental music from The Lion King (Hans Zimmer really earned that Oscar [he deserves more than the one, but if he is to have one, I'm glad it's for that]). But I don't think you'll be allowed to put that in this game of yours.

As with others in this thread, cool weather and light rain do much to relax me. Even just the sound of rain.

Spending time with someone I respect and care about can also relax me. Or spending time near water. Rivers, waterfalls, streams, lakes, oceans; water in general just seems to relax me. Relatively clean, running water at least. Stagnant water certainly isn't relaxing for me.

Just thought of something; being relaxed by things you've never tried; scooba diving & flying like a bird (or Marty MacFly).

I dare you to listen to this majesty without feeling amazingly relaxed by the end of it.

Honestly, almost anything by Solar Fields is amazing. If this is the first you've heard of this guy, check him out. NOW.

"It's a rainy day out.. wait.."

*Puts Persona 4 in PS2*

*Goes to cloudy/rainy day to let this song play*

*Lets loop all day long*

"Peace at last..."

I suppose that's why I adore Persona 4 so much. It integrates my favorite weather, rain, to be a major game mechanic. So awesome.
