Hmmm, I'd avoid Top of the Pops if I were you. Might want to stay clear of Jim'll Fix It too...

Okay, maybe that was a bit below the belt, and I'm sorry. Seriously, I'd recommend (as others apparently have done) Primeval, Doctor Who, and Firefly. Also, Merlin, Robin Hood, and Sherlock (the proper BBC one, not the US ripoff with a new name...). Otherwise, I'd sit down and ask her what sort of show she's interested in, then search based on that - it might be much better then than having her sit with you to see something that only one, or neither, of you is/are interested in...

Doctor who. It's actually hard to dislike. It's funny, exiting, dramatic and it has brilliant writing. Who doesn't love the doctor? Answer: the daleks. Don't be a dalek

Bones is a really cool show in my opinion. It feels cozy to me, if you can understand. Another show that functions the same way is Supernatural. The latter kinda loses it's touch after around the third season, but the first two are excellent.
