For me, it's the entirety of the O' Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. I grew up in a rural areas with a mother who loved country and bluegrass...and Alison Krauss is still one of my favorite vocalists.

Hearing the Sonic the Hedgehog songs being played by the Orchestra made me cry from the nostalgia....so there's that.
Good times, good times.

The first movie I remember watching was the rereleased Star Wars trilogy in theaters. Naturally the choice I go with is:

The song that goes "I ain't ever ever gonna quit, 'cause quittin' just ain't my stick. It's just the way I feel about ya. Girl, I just can't leave without ya." (I guess you can fill in the blank for me, since I keep forgetting. The singer's voice is very deep, like a blues or jazz voice.)

Anyways, that song always reminds me of sitting in my parents' car playing Super Mario Bros. on my Gameboy Color on 4-3 (the level with the towering mushrooms) on the way to Tony Roma's restaurant.

I actually saw them live back when I was a kid... yeah I'm not proud of that now... Damn you young me! If I had a time machine I'd slap you silly!

When I was very young my parents would play this song in the car, mainly because after I heard it once I didn't want listen to anything else.

The Cartoons and The Travelling Wilburys, young me had some eh... interesting taste in music :p
