If you've ever had a girl or guy break your heart, then this song:

Recently had my heart broken... hopefully only temporarily, but it's still easily been one of the worst weeks ever. I've never heard this song before... I'm probably going to play it many more times tonight, although I'm sure it won't do me any good.

And I think this song has never failed to make me tear up

Whyyyy?! I don't know what it is about that damn song (although I think, for me, it might be the part where the guy says, "Fellas, it's been good to know ya."), but I pretty much cry every single time.

And now, for my contribution:
Disclaimer: I don't like Katy Perry. I don't, at all. That said, this song definitely makes me die inside right now. Step off.

Gloomy Sunday.
Bjork's version is particularly poignant to me. She played it at Alexander McQueen's funeral. Not embedding because it's reputed to literally cause suicide. Also not sure how to embed.

Hmm.

One For My Baby. No matter who's singing it. I don't know why.

Oh, and It Is Well With My Soul, though that's more on account of associating it with funerals.

there was actually a study that showed that the type of music that most likely would cause a person to commit suicide is country western music. MANWSERS did and episode also that talked about this study. after look at this song. and this is one of the less sad ones
And who can forget the them to M*A*S*H

"Hear You Me" by Jimmy Eat World. Reminds me of someone very important to me who is now gone.

Body Harvest's music gives it great atmosphere.
Rainy jungle on a gloomy island, no villagers survived.
You are the only one there. Alone.
Earth just a glint among the stars, no hope..

Demon's Souls has a nice selection.
Very touching piece.

VVVVVV has one song in particular which blends the joyous feel of the other tunes with a calm and relaxing melody. The low notes keeps me in a lulled mood and it picks up with higher, more jubilant notes and I am torn between the two emotions.
Wonderful.

I love music for being able to bring out strong emotions. Just.. magnificent.

I believe that's Nina Simone's version sampled. Decent little mix.
