So he agrees with Representative Murtha's comments about Western PA (my area); that it's racist, redneck, and afraid of change? Is he equating racism and fear of change with patriotism and being god-fearing?

Given this video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPg0VCg4AEQ], I'd say he's right on the money agreeing with Murtha...

Yeah, he just tripped over his words. I think he was trying to say that he disagreed with those comments.

Ok guys, we already know that McCain isn't a great public speaker. We don't have to pick out every single time he makes some verbal miscue and then take it as if that's what he was trying to say.

Why do people worry so much about the personality of a politician and not their policies.
Well, I don't give a shit about this video, but, in general, personality is more important than policy promises and should be.

The policies a candidate promises won't necessarily get implemented just because that candidate was elected. Sometimes the candidate abandons his promises. Sometimes circumstances just prevent stuff from happening no matter how hard the candidate fights for some new law.

The candidates' personalities and backgrounds, in contrast, aren't going to fly out the window after election day. If you can figure out what they're like underneath the images they try to project, you can get a general feel for how that person is going to make political decisions. And that's much more enduring than just a handful of October promises.

We have a Winner. 600xp to you good sir.

My thoughts? Both candidates have a right to mistakes, if this is one. Im not as low as McCain's campaign as to judge him on some mistaken phrases.

probably because their policies make up so little of what gets shown about them.

It's not really up to us what gets blown out of proportion. A misunderstanding or vague reference to anything that could be heavily controversial is media gold.

People will watch drama. News Stations roll in their cash piles from advertising.

Maybe you could try changing the power the majority gives in government. Too bad you can't force the big parties to form some sort of coalition with lots of independent people if you had enough of them. That's the only thing I can think of since I probably don't know enough about American politics.

If I lived in the US, McCain certainly wouldn't get my vote. I'm not saying Obama's any better, because I'm not too knowledgeable about their stances, other than Obama's stance on video games being the parents' responsibility. But it is about time the US had a President who can actually pronouncificate their wordulation.

Yeah, Elurindel, not many people outside America would vote for McCain over Obama:

As for McCain's frequent senior moments: he's still a better speaker than George "nukular" Bush, and that's hardly a compliment.

In fairness, both candidates have fucked up public addresses.

I really do doubt anything will change regardless who gets into office. Politicians will say anything to get elected.

Another reason for any gamer worth their salt not to vote for McCain: Jack Thompson offered Palin his support.
