One time in Guild Wars I fell down into the lower ground in this map area but thing is you cannot drop/ jump from a high place.

Well I just beat Fear 3, so I'm going to go and throw that in there to. Mostly the incredibly contrived final boss fight they forced into the game.
Also that thing with Alma and Fettel.

infamous. the ending completely surprised me. there was foreshadowing about it, but it was so subtle that I didn't noticed it until my second play through.

Good "what the hell...":
Bioshock's twist, one of my all time favourite things a game has ever done.
The Bond game 'Nightfire' killing the female love interest 3/4 of the way through. Ballsy.
Actually 'Bloodstone's final twist wasn't half bad.
When the Apple activates at the end AC1 and you see the hologram, that's when it got really sci-fi and fantastic.
AC2, watching the completed Subject 16 video for the first time.
Mass Effect 1 on Virmire when you're talking to Sovereign and you think it's just another interactive display and then it dawns on you what's happening and just what the Reapers are. Genuinely got shivers the first time. I love me some incomprehensible evil forces.
Also ME1, having high enough Paragon to skip the final Saren boss fight. Anyone who did it, knows what I'm referring to. That was... unexpected.
The end of Tomb Raider Legend, the start of Tomb Raider Underworld and the resolution of the Mother's plot in the last level. Pity about the gameplay because story-wise that was a very satisfying trilogy and general mythology.
Saints Row 2. Pretty much all of it.

Bad "what the hell":
AC2's ending. Solar flare? Seriously? That's ALL you could come up with? Quite like how it didn't get a single mention in Brotherhood.
ME2's final boss fight. Liked it because at the time because I was pumped during the final mission but in retrospect... Hmm.
LA Noire reaching what one would normally consider the end at the end of disc 2, only to continue with a less interesting plot for whole other disc. Except for John Noble being there, that man is god.
Resident Evil 5. Pretty much all of it.

FF7

you know the scene
Cloud's bathouse scene with the calvaclade of big burly men?
I think he's talking about the Gondola scene in which Yuffie expresses her love for Cloud, kisses him then, beats on him. Or maybe that other part of Final Fantasy VII where Gackt isn't there and never was.

---

I just beat inFamous and the revelation about Kessler's identity seemed kind of dumb. I played as an evil character and I assume the good guy ending is the same only inverted (if you can follow that)

Assassin's Creed 2 when Ezio is in that clock tower with every training-type NPC he's met up to that point and they make the big reveal that they're all Assassin's. I laughed out loud about the obviousness of that revelation.

"Hello, my name is Oak. Some people call me the Pokemon Professor. This is my Grandson, you two have been rivals since you were babies. Now, what was his name again?"

"Ah yes that's right, his name is Fagballs Gary!"

Playing Eternal Darkness for the first time when the game cuts to the "Continued in Eternal Darkness 2" screen after completing the first chapter of the book.

The beginning of deadspace 2. I've never had a game run up to me and shove so much action and chaos down my throat before i had learned where the hell i was. I remember my wehn the guy showed up saying we need tog et you out of here i thought, 'oh so he's going to escort me, teaching me the basics then leave or die horribly' the second i finished that thought he got stabbed in the head and his face peeled off to which i numbly ran by all the gore and chaos.

I then wondered if i had misread the 'horror' part of the game as ALIEN GORE-FEST PALOOZA.

I'll hop in on the Assassin creed bandwagon however while the ending kinda work for me, i'll say the abritary jump in time made me cringe more

The final boss of "Lord of the Rings: The Third Age". Just... how does the transition between these two videos make any lick of sense?

Just... BOOM! One minute, Pelenor Fields fighting Nazgul. Next, ATOP BARAD-DUR ATTACKING SAURON'S EYE! WTF!?

The ending of any of the Assasin's Creed games.

I pretty much just ignore all the present day crap now, Ezio's story is the only one that even begins to make sense. I actually didn't bother finishing Brotherhood, I got to the part where you get the apple and then stopped there. I've since seen the ending, and I'm satisfied it was the right thing to do.
How did you know that was the last story part as Ezio? Maybe there was more to the story. You haven't even fought Cesare Borgia before that. I'm sorry, but quitting like that and saying "I saw the ending I wanted" was a really stupid thing to do.

OT: It's usually Gamebryo's ragdoll glitches that catapult dead bodies across the map.

It stopped being fun, and the ending was terrible, just as I knew it would be. (As I said, I've since seen it).

I was killing some of those soldiers with the apple, when I realised that what I was doing was really, really dull. Killing people with knives and swords and guns and crossbows was fun, the apple was not (it was also weaker than all my other weapons, yet I was forced to use it). I also knew from experience with the previous games that the ending was going to be really, really bad, so I just stopped. What reason would there be to carry on?

My assumptions were proven correct too, so yeah, I regret nothing.

I agree with the ending being terrible, but wouldn't it make more sense to play through the entire game first before saying 'it's going to suck, so I'll stop now'. You could've easily missed a good ending. Not speaking for AC, I just mean in general.

I can't think of anything really confusing or shocking that I've seen in a video games.Mostly because I'm just damn near impossible to surprise even with the most contrived plot twists. But,when I was playing Castlevania:Dawn of Sorrow,Dmitri genuinely surprised me,because I had already seen some spoilers for the game on accident, then thought that I already knew what the end of the game would be like, but it turned out that the spoilers didn't quite tell me how much I thought they did.

Well, I could have missed something good, but experience with the earlier games made that seem unlikely, and I wasn't enjoying the game at the time. When it's a choice between pushing through something you're already finding tedious (due to combat with the apple) on the off-chance that the ending is actually good (which I already doubted), and just moving on to something else that's actually fun, then why not?

I have plenty of other games to be playing, and if I later had lots of free time or heard that the ending was actually good then I might have went back to it. Unfortunately the ending was not good, and leaving the game at that point was a sound decision.

Ah, my bad. I thought you liked the game but then suddenly stopped playing it because you thought the ending is going to be bad. But if you found the game tedious and it was starting to become boring, makes sense.

I have since kept mostly the same opinion but for some reason Golden Sun has caught my attention. Dialogue is a bit heavy in that game, though. They spend how long standing around talking in the beginning when a volcano's about to explode?
If you haven't already, I suggest you play Golden Sun and TLA, and perhaps Dark Dawn. I've only played the original and Dark Dawn, but apparently TLA is the best in the series. Dark Dawn got some criticism for being too easy, but the original wasn't exactly IWBTG... Anyway, they're great games, the original being my favorite GBA game.

OT: The Sands of Time bath scene, especially since every time I replayed that game, my whole family would be watching every time that specific scene was on -.-

In Halo: Reach, I was playing invasion slayer, and I had tons of lag, and when I died, I didn't respawn for over 30 seconds... and I could make my body disappear and reappear; in fact, it's in my file share, I'll link my Gamertag with this account right after I post this. XD

I think I have the best WTF though: in Red Dead Redemption free roam, you used to be able to jump through the railroad arches and land on top of the mountains, and then the mountains had invisible holes, leading to infinite falls; I teleported to my posse leader, who was stuck in an infinite fall, and instead I appeared under the map... and off of it- in RDR, the map is actually a picture of a map, and if you zoom out, the map shows things that isn't on the picture of the map, so I wasn't on the picture of the map. Anyway, you couldn't move there, but you could use your weapons; you would respawn in the same exact place spot you were originally under the map; I stood on an invisible floor, and if you died, your body would fall... so, I invited everyone in the session (there was about 10 people) to join me there, all of them joined... and we killed each other, and in effect, had a free-for-all under the map, but the wierdest part is: an NPC on his horse spawned under the map with us >.<

glitch moment: I was playing mass effect last night and killed a mercenary and his body just rolled around the ground not spazzing like I'm use to seeing glitched bodies doing just rolling

Cutscene moment: 5th rank boss fight in No More Heroes
when henry comes out of no where and kills him

Gameplay moment: Bioshock I was fighting a splicer and I fired a shot at him he dodges and at the time he dodges on cue a big daddy comes around the corner and it hits him
