Yes yes yes I have.
Bought MGS4 and it was freaking awful. I played for about 2 hours without once having to use stealth, just run n gunned my way through it.
So I traded it in for £15 then saw Saints Row 2 for £15 and bought that. Another poor decision, what an absolute pile of turd that game was. I don't even need to explain why, it's just so obviously bad.
You know, I honestly thought the ridiculously bad english in the first few posts would be the most ludicrous thing I saw in this thread. I was so, so very wrong.
I'll give you MGS4. It was a departure from the series, and in many ways did not feel right. Of course, if you only played two hours, then you only played "Iraq War: Guest-Starring Snake!" and not the game itself. And stealth has never been necessary to win the game, excluding those games made prior to Solid. So in summation: I disagree with your opinion but can see how you might have reached this conclusion based on your expectations and taste.
But to say Saints Row 2 was this bad and to say there is no other conclusion? I simply can't understand this. The only way you could arrive at this conclusion is to hate games where "spray bullets" is a gameplay mechanic, which then begs the question why you purchased MGS4. There isn't any part of the game that is out-and-out bad. The combat is functional, the physics aren't bullshit, there is a crap-ton of content to play with (even without the DLC), there are clear rewards for completing said extraneous activities (unlike games like, say, Assassin's Creed or Fable 2), and the difficulty curve provides an adequate challenge.
Let me make something clear: SR2 is NOT one of my favorite games. In fact, as much as I enjoy it, I play the rest of my library far more. So I'm not going into all this just because I am upset someone dared slight a game I go fanboy for.
I'm just taken aback by the sheer GALL of the statement that SR2 was so bad that examples of its lack of quality need not be put forth. I can understand you not LIKING the game but I really cannot understand how you can make the claim you have.
So yes. Please explain.
On the actual topic: I want to say Darkwatch, except I know exactly what I was thinking. I was THINKING it would be the rather good game that had been demonstrated during its production. It turns out this was not the case.
The only game I could say this about would probably be Iron Man. I KNEW it would be bad, I had HEARD it was awful, but I purchased it nevertheless. It is bad.
