Left 4 Dead. I used to have this rule that "I will research a game to the end before deciding whether to buy it, unless it's made by Valve". That rule is now five words shorter.
I'd like some elaboration here. Did you enjoy the game at all and found it too short for example? Are you counted among the list of people who feel that the content delivered was insufficient and feel slighted that you weren't given more free stuff? Did you just hate the game in general?
The game broke every common sense design rule in the book. Playstyles such as co-operation were enforced by punishment of failure, and rarely through reward of actions. Potentiality for griefing is everywhere. Players clip through each other and can friendly fire, making your teammates enemy number one. Tanks bring any game freely to a dead stop through no missteps of the player, and when played by an infected player, do not allow for any freedom of action by reverting control if you don't play how the developers want you to. The matchmaking system is both unnecessary and completely broken, community content put together in a lazy mismatched way, and versus mode is completely unbalanced and very frustrating for new players.
Giving a specific analysis to Left 4 Dead is like conducting a formal, well-thought review of Big Rigs Over the Road.
The game was just plain horrible.
