What to do when your friends think Modern Warfare is teh best game evar.

You know what, thinking about it, I don't. Thats the gamerfriend I'm missing. I have the dude who is fucking ridiculously awesome at Tekken and Mortal Kombat and stuff like that, then there's my J/WRPGfag buddy, my closed minded PC elitist arsehole, my casual wiimaster, my uber halohumper, PS3fag, 360fag, arcadeking, guitar hero hero, puzzlegame megamind, and RTS shut-in, and then there's me, the TPS/Free Roam guy.

I did have a friend like that, I got some coffee, after a few months he complained about it so much, now its black ops and I'm going to guess it'll be the same circle of super funsauce.
I've never had this problem. A couple of my friends play MW2 alot on their PS3 but that's only because their internet connection sucks and they aren't allowed to play violent games (MW2 and Assassin's Creed somehow became exceptions to that). We still fit in a few rounds of Uncharted 2 multiplayer and LittleBigPlanet and you don't hear them praising MW2 as "teh bestestt gam Evarr!!!1!1"
Although I admit that MW2 is a good game as it's a game that appeals to that part of me that loves modern urban conflict with conventional firearms that isn't as terrible as R6: Las Vegas 2, I would never call it the best game ever, let alone the best game evar. I pride myself on my grammar, after all.
In truth, there is no best game ever, as everyone has their own tastes. One man's best game is another's loathed title. Not to mention the titles still to come.

Opinions: Gamers can't seem to respect them... This topic makes me sad, and almost sad that I am a gamer like them. Seems many people, a lot more on here, sadily, can't respect other peoples opinions. If someone thinks COD is one of the best games ever, they consider them retarded, if they think Half-Life 2 is, then its all fine.
Really sad, and pathetic. People need to go out and learn that many people have different opinions, and what they think isn't wrong, it maybe different from yours but that doesn't at all means you need to force your opinion on them.
Anytime people say these people are stupid, are the stupid ones themselves, for the fact that they can't respect other peoples opinions. You may not agree, but you shouldn't force your opinions upon them or your just as bad if not worse.
Sure maybe it would be nice if they tried more games but really is this so bad? Are people not able to have their own thoughts if they think so and so game is better then another game, are they wrong? No, not at all. If they think so and so console or platform is better then another, are they wrong? No, once again.
But we gamers, or atleast the majority, don't comprehend the idea of opinions. We seem to have to hate on those with different idea's and likes like bigots in video game form. No one is wrong, no one is right, there is only either or. No matter how much you want to believe that your game is the best, not everyone will agree and you must be willing to face that.
TL;DR: Respect other people's opinions, down with opinion haters, down with fanboies.
