Oh yeah, while we're at it, can we scrap any mechanic that makes it easy to check up on EVs and IVs, or makes it easier to catch shiny Pokemon? In a game that obsessive compulsives go absolutely nuts over, and even the average player can get sucked into trying to do everything and Catch 'Em All, there needs to be something beyond the scope of the player. Shiny Pokemon were cool when they were astronomically hard to obtain; EVs and IVs were denied wholesale by Gamefreak until more recently.

Let's put a little mystery back into the game, in other words.

Ability to travel to every region. If they made a MASSIVE Pokemon game in which you could choose which of the five regions you initially started in...then when you conquered them you moved to another, with new Pokemon....so good. Kind of like then did in Gold/Silver/Crystal when you could travel to Kanto (albeit that always felt like a kind of half-hearted addition as all there really was to do was the gym leaders). The only problem is once you've done one Elite Four your Pokemon are probably around level 50/60...so maybe it's mandatory - somehow - that you start with an entire new party or something? Figure it out, Nintendo...
Restrictions on pokemon so only those native to the region can be there? To prevent invasive pokemon species, maybe?

I'd like to see all the regions in one game and I'd like some more realism with the pokemon; I'd like to be able to ride a Rapidash, not fly using a sparrow/pidgey/hoothoot/tailow/starly/ or whatever, I'd like other trainers to freak out whenever they see a legendary pokemon "Ha, silly flygon...OH SON OF A-!" and I'd like to be able to catch EVERY pokemon in one game.

but mostly, I have one thing. One single thing I want and I swear to god, I will be much happier with pokemon:

I want more choices. I don't actually know what choices I want. I mean plot choices not pokemon choices. Rather than just being allowed to go out on an adventure maybe running away from home or having to convince my parent otherwise. That's just one example I can think of. But no joining the criminal masterminds, maybe wearing a disguise and going undercover but no more than that

First Pokemon in the party follows. I loved this little feature - not sure why they got rid of it in Gen V.

These are two of my main ones as well. I'm not a huge fan of changing the battle system but the whole multi-region thing is a great idea in my opinion.

My main addition would be the ability to actually, you know, catch 'em all. Ok, trading between games of the same gen is fair enough, but there should be no pokémon that are event-exclusive (maybe certain variations (EG: special move-sets) but ALL of the pokés should be obtainable.

I don't know, maybe I'm just a perfectionist.

There is so many things that can be done....

All regions - perhaps this could be a project for the 3DS, this may take a long time but one of the things I loved about G/S/C was the fact that you went back to Kanto. It would also be pretty cool if we got regions from console games such as XD too.

Stop getting rid of features - If Battle Frontier was in Platinum, why not Black and White. Battle Subway was just Battle Tower fancied up. The VS seeker should also return, the elite four gets very boring after a while. Following Pokemon could return too. Basically, whenever there is a new game, there shouldn't be too many features missing from the last game. In Pokemon B/W's case, the game has a lot less to do than Platinum.

Customisation - Trainer Sprites could be customised as well as stuff like the secret bases introduced in R/S/E, records should be able to be mixed online with random people so you can find them in your world.

Battle Tower Styled True Elite Four - I suppose this would only work if there was multiple regions, to become the true champion you should be up against either lvl 100 pokemon or be able to defeat the strongest trainers in battle tower leveled style. Perhaps even Battle Frontier could determine whether you are strong enough to be the champion or not.

Fight back against hackers - This means no asking for ridiculous trades on GTS and stronger protection online against hackers. It will never be perfect, but if GTS gets fixed and hacked Pokemon can only be as strong as legits, then it is fine.

1) more engaging story (apparently Black and White got a bit better)

2) Mix up the formula a bit. Each new game feels like the exact same journey, just with different monsters.

If they did that, I MIGHT get back into it. I feel that the series is just the same old same old now...I need freshness.

I don't mind there being loads of legendaries, as long as they have a good story behind them it's all good. However being able to catch a pokemon that claims to have created the pokemon that created spacetime is a bit much.

On the hand helds i would like a more varried indepth storyline and stuff.

On the consoles i wan't to play a cinematic storyline, have realitime combat, have minigames like in Colosseum, and have lots of stuff to do after them main storyline which isn't just long, (like purifying a metagross) i did like the shadow pokemon idea though.

oh and pokemon following you in every pokemon RPG bought out from this day forward!

Main series can stay as it is, don't expect that to change. I would like to see a pokemon fighter game in a similair style to Marvel vs Capcom, except you choose a roster of 6 instead of 3. Lots of the pokemon would have similair moves (for example many grass pokemon might have poison seed) as their four specials, but each would have differents ups and downs. Imagine doing a full circle attack to use a flamethrower from your charizard, knocking out their venosaur only to see that their next pokemon is Gyarados and you gotta get your fire pokemon outta their before they mess you up.

A SRPG style game would be awesome do. Basically anything were mobility and speed of the pokemon would actually make a damn difference over strength and type. If you made each trip of a route a randomly filled map of the local monsters that you had to battle your way through, with trainer battles being even tougher due to actual co-ordination I think that would be awesome. Attacks like leer and growl would be worth hanging on to, if the effected a cone or area of enemies, as it wouldnt feel so useless if you had other pokemon to take use of their lowered stats.

Agree with the above statements of Disgaea meets Pokemon, but in Disgaea you actually have choice about how you grind, pokemon could learn alot from that.

Been working on a pokemon pen and paper game, but it gets set back as things change in every generation.

It might be interesting to see dual type attacks to match the dual type pokemon. Like Sky Attack could be a Fire/Flying move. But obviously that'd have a lot of potential for broken matchups, as in my example that's x4 damage against a grass type and a Grass/Bug would take x16.

Still would be cool if it could be made to work.

The ability to choose any (or almost any) basic Pokemon, that you've caught, as a starter if you restart your game after beating the Elite Four.

Also, I wanna live to see Pokemon #1,000.

A different plot would be good enough for me, thanks.

I didn't actually play the new one more than 15 minutes but I already chose one of three Pokemon and set out on a quest... hm, sounds familiar...
So you'd rather get a Pokemon then stay at home baking bread?
There is pretty much no other way to start it, except in medias res I suppose, but I really don't think that would work.

The ability to start and manage your own evil organization like Team Rocket.
This. :D

Also I'd LOVE it if you could stop a pokemon's evolution but still get the power of the evolved pokemon. Most of the time I love how the unevolved pokemon looks but then he gets butt ugly when he evolves. But you have to evolve him to be useful in combat. Can't we have both cute and powerful? Why do we have to choose one of the other?

The whole game should be online and you should be able to walk up to random people and challenge them to a pokemon match. They should have done this with the first DS game

A Breeding-System that actually fuckin' works withing 1-2 hours, once I had to wait almost an entire week for my Pokemon to bloody Breed.

And maybe drop the whole Turn-Based combat, I always thought that it didn't suit Pokemon, and it's boring.
