I'd just be an ordinary rifleman. just another one of the many thousands that blends in with his comrades.

I'd be that guy, you know who, The guy who stands up in the middle of the enemy line of fire, and screams "For the MOTHERLAND! Go you worthless pieces of ----" (KnaaS - KIA)

Either a cold sniper who likes his gun a bit too much or a soldier who goes on berserking rampages.

More realistically, though, a cowardly one.

Lol, if you were conscripted, you wouldn't get a choice for shit. You'd get told what to do... End of.

It takes years of training to become a sniper and 95% of you would probably get killed in your first fight.

Here's a scenario for you... You're a WW2 Russian farmer, you've just been yanked from your house and placed on a flatbed truck headed for Stalingrad where the Germans are currently leading their offensive into Russia. Your paired up with another dude, he is given a rifle, you are given some ammo. The gate flies up and you are told to go forward fighting, if you turned around and came back you'd be shot.... A lot of farmers died that day...

But fantasizing about being a sniper in a conscription army is fun isn't it...

Well when i go paint balling im usually the sniper/scout unit seeing as im a good shot and refuse to carry tons of gear.

However i would probably just end up as the cannon fodder known as basic infantry.

I live in Canada, so if drafted it would mean something big.

Probably intelligence detail. I understand codes and am getting my degree in math so I would be good at that.

Oh, and I am probably not allowed to serve due to psychological history. Maybe a high risk company like being parachuted in to cause problems.

You guys are no fun, where's your creativity?

I'd be a commando taking into account my resourcefulness.
That's not creative. I'd be the reclusive French guy, who has a deep and mysterious backstory which he hints at throughout the course of the war. He drops snappy one-liners (delivered in a deep, heavily accented voice) that (pieced together) imply that his father is a terrorist currently employed by Chinese fishmonger robots, having a magical third ear and having been abused as a child by the owners of a Baguette-Hardening business. At the final boss battle (when the ghost of Saddam Hussein joins with Kim Jong-Il), which takes place in an Olympic swimming pool, he sacrifices his life, and saves everyone with the creative use of a pack of a a bin full of wet tissues and a lava lamp.

In reality, as I'm a female I don't think I can be drafted can I?
If I was I imagine it'd be some support position in communications.
Actually most modern armies have women serving but usually not in combat roles but when things get tough women some how find themselves in the thick of the fight.
That could all be changing soon... We already have female fighter pilots flying combat missions, many more in support positions near the frontline. But the British Army knows women can become effective infantry soldiers. Give it a few years and they'll be on the frontlines too.

Vet Tech, because I don't give a shit about these "humans" I am surrounded by... and it's what I'm going to do anyway, and the great thing about the RAVC is I don't have to wear a big red cross like the medics, in their big red cross tent, see if I were a strategist in a war I'd just say "hit the one with the cross on it" it just seems logical to me...

Its a hypothetical not real life, everyone knows that you dont get to choose like that, and that sniping isnt what games make it out to be. Its a thread about if you could choose, what would you be? No sense in getting so worked up over it.
OT: Intelligence would be cool, but as a more active type I would think either a basic rifleman, or a humvee driver.

Since I wouldn't make a very good soldier but a capable engineer, I think thats it.
Also possible are intel (know my way around a radio) or artillery gunner.

If the army are not retarded, I'd be in the chair force, telling people what to kill.
If they are, which i would predict, then ill be scared out of my mind, shaking like a leaf behind cover, most likely never firing a shot.

A hero of war
Yeah that's what I'll be
And when I come home
They'll be damn proud of me
I'll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because it's a flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

or maybe like Solid Snake...
