I don't think I've ever seen a manticore used in a game before.

And I've only ever seen one made for TV SciFi movie about it in all my time viewing TV.

I'd like to see them used more; they never really got the coverage they deserve in culture.
Agreed. Manticores need much more attention, seeing how awesome they are.
Also, this is a little off topic, but did anyone else think Skyrim needed some more monsters?

Neverwinter Nights 1 had them, you can polymorph into them too! :)

For me? Wereboars. We need more Wereboars dammit!

Still, they're so rare. I've actually been thinking back, and I can add another occurrence of them; they were in the third Percy Jackson book. And by they, I mean one, and by in, I mean he was a henchmonster that popped up every so often.

They deserve more.

Ghosts...IN SPAAAAAAAACE.

More specifically, some kind of very confined ship. Seriously, this has to be the best setting for a ghost story EVER, but it's almost never used.
I saw a ghost film set in a submarine once. Can't remember the name but it was very very claustrophobic. I remember a scene of a guy looking in the mirror, and he notices a small delay between his movements and the mirror's reflection movements. He turns with his back towards the mirror, but the reflection just looks at his back. I was quite young, but it was a very well made film.

O.T I'd like to see some Lovecraft style monsters..

Not really monsters but I want new ideas for PLAYABLE races other than the fucking elves again.

Bird folk are fucking awesome, last I heard of them was either the Jackals from Halo or Balbaroy from Shining Force:

The Elder Scrolls Six should introduce them the way Blizzard introduced the Draenai (Make them crash land on Tamriel and central to the plot).

OT:

Okay, for monsters? Gelatinous Cubes.

Things that cannot die tend to be interesting.

The Weeping Angels.

They have such serious potential for horror games im surprised theyve not been ripped off for one so far.
The living statue SCP is very similar, only it snaps your neck or chokes you. Not sure which came first, it or the angels.

In any case, it's in the containment breach game.

Sure they have pretty colored wings,
but that's all to lure you into a false sense of security.
Take a good look at their face, it's the stuff nightmares are made out of.

Thats no wasp.....

I've always thought centaurs were fairly bad ass. Be they more human like or the feral kind.

No, no you don't. Unless some DLC has added them you must be thinking of either the chimera or if you want to push it the griffons or cockatrice.

And Guffe, the episode of Supernatural that was supposed to have dragons in it pissed me off to no end.

Zombies. Poor guys are practically already forgotten, no game in the last 20 years has had zombies.

Seriously though, giant ants. Ever seen the movie "Them!"? Those ants are creepy as fuck. I mean, they already have crazy relative strength, crazy numbers and a crazy hive mind, but in giant form? Waka waka. Yeah, Fallout games, I know, but I want more.
There is a game like that, it's called Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.

On topic. I know there is a film about it but to call it a B movie would be overly generous. A komodo dragon.

Although all I could imagine the film being is something like piranha 3D or mega shark vs giant squid...

Oh my GOD, MOTHRA LIVES!!

As somebody posted above, Chimera would be great to fight against. I would love to play a game where you fight a bunch of Yokai or other Japanese folk-monsters:

The really interesting thing about Yokai is how they aren't all malevolent. The Kappa for example, would try to drown you and suck your blood out of your asshole (not making that up) but if you give it a cucumber it'll grant you good luck and if you save one from drying up/dying it'll form a sort of life-debt with you (like Chewie to Han).

...has any new info for Youkai Watch come out yet? I'm jonesing!

The only two I can think of are the mummies and the black lagoon sort of monsters.

Under water creatures that aren't a fucking giant shark. I want massive underwater monsters.

Hell even if giant squids made a come back i'd be happy

I'd even poop myself if this was a real thing.
