What video game character would you save?

Wow... Can't believe that no one's said this before but Ryan from Bioshock... He had my total respect, though that might just be from my lack of compassion for my fellow man. But seriously... I wanted to see him help you kill "Atlas"/Fontaine and then turn on you. So if not save him, at least postpone his death.

BTW, to the guy above me... Mods my man mods... Then you don't have to worry about that stupid main quest.

Yeah, plus now what are they going to do for a sequel?

My hope is a prequel in which you work for Fontaine before Rapture was destroyed. THAT would be awesome! But if they just make a sequel with more of the same but somehow Fontaine survived... that would be no fun at all.

I would save Sev from Republic Commando. I was very depressed when he got left behind.

Aeris of course..jstu to see how ridicuolus her ppwers would of gotten by the end of the game...tho on the other hand, her death was monumental in ways that people actually gave a damn about some pixelated creation...so her death defined her and perhaps the game as a whole.

I'm gonna say Saren from mass effect. He thought he was doing the right thing, maybe he was brain washed who knows.I have to say I felt rather sorry for him. He didnt deserve to die, or have a really shitty final bossfight either.

Who would I save...hardly anybody, I'm a prick. I would shoot Aeris personally, Johnson got on my tits too (It's never explained how he got off the first ring!), Jenny was worth saving but then I saw the picture of the voice actress and that threw me off. Eli was a sudden introduction so you indeed knew he was going to die. Captain Keyes (both of them) would've gotten the bullet too. Wait...if Lord Hood died, I'd save him. Just because he is voiced by Ron Perlman.

I'd have to go with Jenny from The Darkness (what did she ever do to them?), Romanov from Red Alert 2 (he dies if you choose to be a Soviet, no-one who's that cool should die)and Eli Vanc...just kidding, my third choice would be Brad from Dead Rising (one of the last things he says to you is 'I'm screwed', some would take that as a reason to abandon all hope, I saw that as a challange to rescue him...a challange I failed and promptly took a picture of for giggles and an achievment).

Oddly, probaly keyes form halo 1, he was a hero, but apart from that I wish more halo charecters had died, and miranda earlyer.
I have to agree wih the half life mentions although that is huge, unfair spoiler and I would have hated it if I knew what was about to happen. I don't think gregori died.

Both are accomplishable - beat the game on hardest difficulty, and she ends up alive and in Max's arms.

Personally, I would have let Nariko from Heavenly Sword live. But killing her off was the only way to ensure they would not have to make sequels (and that is STILL not a sure thing
Best female heroine since Jade, and they have to pull the entire "touched-by-fate-and-doomed-to-die" routine. Boring - killing off the protagonist is ALWAYS a muddy-booted kick in the player's face.

The crew of the Atlantis from Unreal 2. The fact that you actually have/get to talk to them regularly throughout the course of 8+ hours of awesome gameplay and then *BAM* knocked out of the sky but that treacherous bastard Hawkins. While you're defending his sodding outpost! Ungrateful dickweed, totally enjoyed putting a bullet in his brain.

The cast of Deus Ex depending on which conversation trees you screw up. I think first time I played that I got all of them killed.

This may not count, but, I've been playing Halo 2 for the first time, and on the level "Sandtraps" I didn't know Antlions would spawn if I stepped on the ground, some guy tried to warn me, but I rushed in recklessly, he was killed by the Antlions that spawned.

I hadn't saved the game in a while so the poor guy had to stay dead, but next play through, I'll try and keep him safe and sound

That's so sad! I do the same thing in that game; try to save every NPC that I possibly can. I even go back for them if I lose them, or re-load the quick save if they die.

As for a character that I'd like to save... I'd say Emma Emmerich from Metal Gear Solid 2. That was such a sad death.

Hey we don't know that captin price is dead and I personaly choose to belive that after the medic gave up on CPR a better medic parachutes in with a defibrillator and saves his life

Jacksons' was a lot worse, they even let you take control in his last few moments to rub it in.

Yeah but being Scottish I felt more in touch with Gaz
Also I don't think you had enough missions with Jackson to establish much of a connection.

Gaz never died, it was his voice during the opening of the epilogue he survived

I wouldn't mind seeing Starkiller from The Force Unleashed survive. Thats the first one that comes to mind since thats the game I played most recently.
