Didnt say you were supposed to. I like ot eat healthy, so it bothers me, but if you like that stuff, then its fine. different strokes for different blokes and all that jazz.
Didn't say I was supposed to what? I was just comparing a Big Mac to a Double Down and pointing out that it's not any worse than typical fast food, despite appearance.

Two American inventions that I'm surprised haven't made the list... revolutionized machining and woodworking for better than a century:
Milling Machines [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milling_machine] and Profile Lathes [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lathe].

Norway...the cheesegrader. That's about it.
We're also trying to claim credit for paper clips, but that's not really true.

Yeah, we suck.

-reads- Holy Sh*t! We invented crackers and doughnuts?
XD It doesn't surprise me that America created what is essentially fried dough.
Well think about it. Fried dough is awesome, how did it take that long for people to figure it out? You'd think at least some central European baker would've experimented a little.

Well, it said there that it may have come up in the netherlands in colonial America, but the ring shape is American invention.

Canada- insuline
Ummm...
1. It's insulin (I'm diabetic, I would know HOPEFULLY)
2. Strangely, it was a Romanian that invented insulin, but the Canadians got the credit)

Sorry, easy misunderstanding: when I said, "I'm supposed to be disgusted by an additional 3 grams of fat" what I was actually doing was expressing amazement how many people say the sandwich was unusually disgusting.

Penicillin. You can thank Alexander Fleming next time you don't die from a bacterial infection.

Wow...

I'm German, so this could become a pretty long post ;)

Book Printing (the interchangeable-letters kind)

The little thing that turns back and forth in mechanical watches instead of a pendulum ("Unruh" in German)

The Phone

The electrical generator

refridgerators

internal combustion engines

cars

alternating current

the diesel engine (my favourite machine, it's so simple, yet very funtional)

X-Rays

glider planes

Cathode ray tubes

Aspirin

first computers (Z1 to Z4, not PCs)

Rotary engines

the MP3 codec

These are just the most significant ones.

Oh, and fluorescent lights and decaffeinated coffee, sorry about these two...
