Also I would have said Jet Airplane(Avro Arrow) but my plane-nut friend has informed me otherwise. So i'll stick with "pioneered"
Sorry to break it to you but Canada weren't even close on that. The Germans were credited with building the first working jet plane in the Messerschmitt 262 and the British Gloster Meteor followed soon after. Both were around at least eight years before the Arrow was created.

Anyway onto my country and the Portable Defibulator.

BEDBATHANDBEYOND! Fuck yeah, fuck yeah...
freedom?? *cough slavery cough*
Exactly what I was going to say...For a nation that prides itself on freedom, it surely exercised the whole slavery concept a lot.

The British invented America... Think about it.
Well my good sir, America was invented by no man... but rather by geological forces that are still being studied to this day. I suggest you pack up your bag and go home.
Sorry, but does founding count as inventing?

Well he might not have done it in our country per se, but our scientist developed commercial electricity the way it's used today, so that might count as something.

BTW> Bell was a Canadian citizen, living here when he invented the Telephone.

Some others are Plexiglas, basketball, polyethylene bags, electron microscope, Java (programming), insulin, IMAX, pacemaker, zipper, kerosene, and walkie-talkies. (some of which have already been mentioned) The lightbulb is a disputed one.
All these posts from Canuckle-heads, and no mention of the Canadarm?

Pretty simple, what invention, world changing, trivial, what-have-you, was invented in the country you call home?

I'll go first.

America- Airplane, Machinegun, bifocals, tumbler lock (I believe), and the telephone.

EDIT: LISTS DON'T COUNT SLACKERS!!!

Serbia and America: Everything Nicola Tesla invented beacose he was from Serbia but he moved to USA.

Sweden: The Dynamite and the book whith pictures and names of nearly every plant.

Yugoslavia: Working Communism.

Australia invented retail "goon": y'know, ludicrously cheap wine in a silver bag in a cardboard box. Prior to that people had to use costly flagons (hence the etymology). I'm still torn as to whether this should be a point of pride.

Also ugg boots are Aussie. On a similar footwear note, modern style thongs (flipflops) are commonly errouneously deemed to be Australian (rather, they are Japanese having descended from geta and brought to Australia rather early by Japanese pearl diving migrants).

Oh yeah, a cure for stomach ulcers. That was Australian.

Aquada speedster, Zorb, referee's whistle, eggbeater.

You'll also find that the first successful flight also took place in New Zealand in 1902.
