Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Football (in its current form, vikings kicked heads about, not the same thing), chasing rolling cheese down a hill in the name of sport/lunacy (I shit you not), bogsnorkelling and, I believe, rugby.

My list is a little sport flavoured, mainly for two reasons; 1) I love them all 2) I doubt too many people on here (based on previous experience) will want/be able to prove me wrong :)

Well, I know my father went to the very branch of Kent State that produced the LCD display, so that's something.

Edit: That means I'm stating LCD's for the US of A.

I am an American and, I think this is one of our best achievements...

That bacon cheeseburger is sitting between a krispy kreme doughnut which has been cut in half and lightly grilled. I think I win.
Is this in combination with the double down?

Two pieces of either fried or grilled chicken, with two pieces of bacon and cheese in between.
Sorry guys...these dudes are Canadian, so it looks like Canada might have out-America'd you on that one:

Oh darn? Thats not exactly something I'd be proud of. I'm not even proud of Americans making the double down.

Besides, give us some time. you're talking to the people that needed a grilled cheese burger:

Oh don't worry, I'm not proud. I think we can agree that North America in general should be ashamed of some of its "cuisine".
And I know there's no competition...I mean, you guys invented this:

That is just hilarious food GENIUS right there. :)

Eh. you know America. We like to make things easier. And portable. ANd give us a heart attack in six different ways. XD Its not.. well, it might be an invention, but it brings me back to this:

Cause I think I can safely (and sadly) say thats the most inventive someone in Modern America has been at tackling a problem.

EDIT: So chalk up the Oreo to America. You're very welcome milk.

The first inventor to use alternating current was a Frenchman and the first working computer was actually made by an englishman.

(Fun fact: the worlds first programmer was a woman. Presumably she was told to re-enter the kitchen after she was done writing the punch card.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternating_current

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Difference_engine

And for the guy who claimed evolution, there is a difference between inventing something and discovering something.
Granted, an invention without application is quite useless, but being the first one to use something does not mean he invented it.
Although alternating current is just a result of the way an electrical generator works, so I guess it was a bit wrong to list it as a separate invention.

And the difference engine is pretty much just a calculator. It might have been one of the early steps towards computers, but the Z1 was actually programmable using punch cards, while the difference engine just performed a single operation.

Dude, the difference engine is a calculator that can work with polynomials, not a freely-programmable computer.
That´s is like claiming the chinese invented the computer, because that´s where the first abacus showed up.
Oops I mixed the difference engine with the Analytical engine my bad.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analytical_engine

Hey look it is even programmable. It was never fully constructed though. Only partial or very simple builds based on early designs but he still invented it and it is still a computer.

Everyone claims the world wide web but sadly for you its first iteration was created by the United States military. So no but thanks for the Beatles and Zeppelin.
