My first job was McDonald's.

Long hours, ungrateful customers, very tedious labor and co-workers who offered no help to the new person who was stuck in the back handling money at the drive-thru, and a paycheck that was less than satisfactory for that time period.

Never. fucking. again.
Same here, but hourly I actually made more than people who had been there a while. I got thrown back on the grill, but I only lasted a month before I decided sleep was more important.

My first was as a camp counselor in a place called Camp Funshine. Hated it. Every. Fucking. Second of it. Got fired after less than two weeks. Took me less than an hour to get over it.

After that, I worked at Dairy Queen. I actually liked that, but they gave me terrible hours, I needed something were I could actually get paid.

So I went onto McDonald's. I'd describe it, but someone already summed it up nicely:

I feel your pain, my brother.

Working at my local movie theater as an usher.
Really easy stuff.
Stand there.
Rip it in half.
Point a direction.
Sweep popcorn.
Pretty nice for $7.25 an hour.
Is the minimum wage that low in the US? Whoa...

I have a student job at my college; chemistry teaching storeroom worker. Basically, I hand out stuff to students, yell at them for wearing gloves in the hallway, and making solutions. Not bad for $9/hr, especially since I mostly spend my time there doing hw.

Braums... *shivers*

For those of you that don't know, it is a fast food chain that specializes in ice cream and has a tiny dairy store in it. Second job was Cici's (pizza buffet), and now I work at McDonalds...

It changes per state, but yes it is. Not sure where that guy lives, but in Missouri, minimum wage is $7.25.

I was a host at a restaurant. I took reservations, seated people and turned the grill on (it was a hibachi restaurant you see) It wasn't bad but they wouldn't give me any hours outside of weekends and holidays.

My first job was washing dishes at a little place called The Harrisville General Store.
8 dollars an hour. It was a pleasant place. I got to try all sorts of delicious things.......

I didn't get a job until after I graduated High School... and that was an on-campus student employment opportunity at my university.

Would extra money have been nice in High School? Sure... do I regret it? No. My logic at the time (and still) was (is) that if I'm going to spend the greater part of the rest of life having to work to live, I may as well enjoy the time that I don't have to work by not working.

For one summer, I worked for a company that paid me $10.00 an hour to stand in a parking lot. Pretty sweet job, but it was mind-numbingly boring.

I was a lifeguard and swim lesson teacher this past summer. It was pretty much the greatest job ever. $9 an hour for sitting around doing nothing in the office, then sitting around doing nothing in a big chair.

My first job was probably babysitting or setting up email accounts for old people. I also spent most of my holidays working for my parents. Now I work at a radio station but I don't get paid for that. Looking to get a job at some gourmet pizza place this summer. It seems to pay relatively well, at least compared to some fast food joints. I'd rather get $9.00 making pizza than $6.00 making...whatever that stuff at KFC is. Chicken.

My family had a garden, we grew plants and sold flowers, till I was 15. I used to work there as a kid. After that I've done lots and lots and lots of different kind of work.

OP should just do anything that pays, and the one that pays the most if there are options to choose from. Activity is the key to getting summer jobs. And you got to be early, to get the best ones at least.

I was a Human Directional for 13 months, basically I got to stand in one spot for 5 hours with one 15 min lunch break. God I hated working that job, but I needed the money.

My first job was at a public library. The pay was quite decent, and it's a low-stress job. You can learn some things, and you get to help people out. And if you get bored, you can always just hide in the shelves and read. Not too shabby. Boring, but not bad.

I used to work cleaning apartments with my aunt. The hours weren't bad, and the pay was good. But we were cleaning college apartments. The stuff I'd see...it gave me nightmares.

One time, there was so much dust from pot smoke on this one ceiling fan. We thought it moved.

Not to mention the used condoms, bottlecaps drilled into the ceiling, you name it. XD

When I was 14/15 I worked in a cafe once a day for £15... Shitty job.
I've worked with Avon, and the job I have now is my first 'real' job - working in store for an actual wage, paying tax etc. The other jobs were cash in hand.

I worked at a Boy Scout camp all summer, I made $1200 US. I would suggest (as I'm sure someone before me has) working at a camp, it's an easy job and you make a decent amount of money.

bus boy/dish washer in a local pizza joint. The only thing that sucked more than the job was the pay. However, there was an incident in the store room, a cute latino co-worker, her lacking pants, and myself.

Ahh....memories.

I worked for the local ice arena back when I was 15 and kept it for 3 1/2 years before I left for college.

My boss and co-workers were pretty cool, the hours were good, part of my job was supervising the rink during open skate, which translated into skating non-stop for an hour an half. We also set up for events and hockey games. I was the guy who set off the light whenever some scored a goal.

All-and-all, it was a pretty fun job. Thinking about it brings back memories from high school, and I'm not afraid to admit I miss those simpler times.
