Best Gift: ASUS G 60 Gaming laptop. My parents got it for me because my old crappy normal laptop is now practically worthless, and this one is INFINITELY better. I can play PC games again! Batman Arkham Asylum runs at full speed! I'm able to max out the settings for games now! I doubt it can play Crysis, but I have no interest in playing it.
Bad: Gift cards. A $20 one for Gamestop, a $25 Visa debit card (works everywhere), and a $10 gift card for McDonalds. I don't really like gift cards, because, to me, they say "I care just enough about you to get you something, but not enough to bother finding out what you WANT." It's a cop-out, essentially.
Also, what ticks me off about gift cards is they provide no immediate pleasure (unless you pretend to use them as wild-cards in solitaire...), all they do is provide uncertain future pleasure. I'm 17! I want immediate pleasure, dammit! And I can't even redeem them tomorrow, because going to the store the day after Christmas is like walking through the nine circles of hell...without a scythe.
Well, at least I can redeem them for something I do want, although I don't know of any computer games that run for under $20 that I'll actually PLAY...
