In today's society, there have been many screw-ups in our government. But what do you think was the biggest and most idiotic move made in our government. Please voice your opinions.

Wow, there is quite a few, ranging from blatant racisim, Teddy's "White Fleet" to Grant's "Gold Bust". But the biggest presidental screw up in history has got to go to FDR's decison to allow the supreme court to force Japanese American's into Interment Camps. Probably one of the biggest mistakes America has ever made. All of those innocent people, no matter which generation they were, the goverment uprooted them and put them in camps, in order to stop the "Possibility" of Anarchy.

Preaching freedom, liberty and justice on every possible occasion, yet practicing corruption, racism, sexism, torture, illegal wars, greed, a class system etc. etc. etc. right across the country.

Also being so terribly afraid of socialism, despite the fact that if it were properly put into practice it would reflect the aforementioned virtues of freedom, liberty, justice etc.

This.

Also renouncing the 'U' which I have never understood. Why America? What did it do to deserve to be shunned.

Electing George W. Bush into office.

When they disconnected from the British Empire, duh. We could've all lived in the same giant country now... Imagine that =p

Well, the whole anti-communist craziness before Cold War was pretty bad. And Cold War itself too.
you do realize that if america never seperated from britian it wouldnt have the louisana territory. since the french had control of the territory by the 1800s.

you know whats worse then electing george w. bush. reelecting him in 2004.

I have to say the worst mistake they made was letting Walt Disney rat out his fellow animators to the House of Un-American Activities. Do you have any idea what it could have been like to have animator jobs for those people so America wouldn't just have Disney as the top dog of animation?
