It was the Brits, not the Canadians. Canada wasn't even independent until 1867 at earliest. I don't know why, but as an American, this irks me.

Upper and Lower Canada appeared on the Map in 1792, so you could say that Canadians in red coats, burnt the White House. The Constitutional Act came into effect on December 26, 1791. Canada was still a British Colony and truly self ruled country however. But then again saying that they didn't burn down the white house would be like saying Americans didn't fight for their independance, using that thinking i guess the french were the only nation fighting for US independance.

So I guess we can consider anything that happened in the U.S. before the declaration of Independance is actually British history, and not U.S. history?

The entire thing implies that Canada invaded the US,which isn't true. Only Britain has ever done so. Washington was burned by an invading force that landed in the Chesapeake Bay and marched to the capital.

Someone did tell me though the name American Football comes from the full term of the sport Rugby Football, which is what American Football emulates (except with more body armour and forked goalposts).
What I don't get is why didn't you call it American RUGBY since that's the sport it's closest too.
