What was the first current-gen game you bought?

I remember. The day I got my X360. The shop was having a promotion, y'see. One free game for each console bought. I was stuck between Halo 3 and Assasins' Creed. Halo 3 because I thoroughly enjoyed the multiplayer on Halo 2, and Assassin's Creed because well it just looked awesome! Cool assassin climbing skyscrapers while being chased by guards? I'm sold!

I chose AC in the end, and it was kind of disappointing. As many of you, I'm sure, have preached over and over again, that game was ******* repetitive. The game had basically ten of the same missions. I got Halo the next day and it proved to be a much better experience.

Grand Theft Auto 4, while Forza 2 and PGR 4 came bundled with my console.
They were all pretty damn good.

Team Fortress 2

Much merryment was had.
The trouble is, where do you define the generation boundries when you're a PC gamer? I've had FEAR and Quake 4, both of which hit this gen of consoles, but I had them some time before the PS3 was even out. TF2 was released on consoles roughly at the same time as the PC, so that's the first one I've had that was part of 'this' generation.

Dead Rising, the fact that it was a free roaming zombie game in a mall helped me to ignore the fact that it was made by fucking Capcom.

Now that I think of it, I do remember having a bundle of games that c ame with the console, but mine was Forza 2 and that garden-like game.. thing. I forgot the name. Starts with V, I think.

In terms of consoles, it would be Uncharted and Resistance: Fall of Man. I played Uncharted first, and let's just say it set an awesome first impression for this generation of games/consoles.

And, yes, I enjoyed the hell out of GTA IV and went through it three times.
It was better than San Andreas, but worse than Vice City in my opinion.

I don't know - hard to tell being a PC gamer. For me everything's in the same generation.

I guess it'd be something like CoD 2.

I got The Darkness before I even had a 360, I just used to use my brothers. I bought it because I liked the comics and it looked undeniably awesome. Yeah that was a slight misjudgement on my part.

Well my first current gen console was the 360, and that came with Halo 3, Blue Dragon and Moto GP 07. I got rid of Moto GP though, racing games aren't really my cup of tea.
