Must have been Duck Tales on Game Boy in 1990 or 1991, or Super Mario Land in 1990, I can't remember which one I beat first, but I still know when I had my first game boy, and when I caught the vidya gaems virus...

I *think* the first game I ever beat was ET on the Atari.

WAIT! NO!

Ghostbusters on the C64! That was first!

I remember playing Air Combat on the PSOne and flying through this huge canyon whilst shooting down helicopters. It was just like the death star run because at the end I had to shoot missiles and hit a radar dish in order to cripple the enemy forces. Finally I played against the boss, who was a bigass super-superfortress that was going to take over the world and I had to shoot its engines out. I really sucked back then, but the game was easy enough for me to beat and unless you count my dad's old copy of duck hunt it was the first game I ever beat.

Also I loved flying in that box canyon they put you in for multiplayer. I would fly to the bottom and fly between the rocks just inched above the ground and then swoop up majestically to kill my little brother. Also this is the game where I learned how to screenlook without getting caught.
Me too! Its still one of my favorite classic games.

played a ton on Atari and SNES but never beat them...

The first game I remember beating all of the way through would have to be Kirby for the ORIGINAL GAMEBOY

thats right

I'm fairly confident in saying the first game I ever fully beat was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64, but I think the real reasoning for that is that by that generation of consoles saving a game was a working reliable thing and I could play a game all the way through without sitting through a marathon of playing in one day.

Warcraft 2. Almost immediatley after that I started to play the expansion and beat it. I was so happy when the BatlleNet version came out.

*sighs* Those were the days.

i remember there was a time in my life, around the age of about 9-10 back in good old 1997 when Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear solid were new to me, i remember being stuck on those two for a good long while, in fact several years passed before i even got to the first elevator on MGS and as far as FFVII went, well i was about 13 before someone told me "y'know you can just through an X-potion and gi-natak" that's right, i spent three years stuck on the easiest parts of those games.
but they were, innevitably the first games i completed.

Boy was i proud,.

now days i find myself going round my mates for the weekend and completing his games by accident.
how i managed to complete Viva Pinata in one setting i have no idea...

Pokemon blue for the gameboy color. Took much longer than it should've But I'm a one pokemon guy, no full teams for me!

But yeah it takes a long time to win with charizard and articuno(however it is spelled) in the final part.
