First game I ever beat was Pieces of Eight, back in 1983ish on IMB XT with a black&white 8" monitor that my primary school had won in a newspaper competition.

Half-Life 2
As strange as it may sound, that game was my first.

I did get to the last boss on crash bandicoot 2 though...

I think Mario Brothers 3 on the NES or maybe the first one. I cannot recall, although I know I was bloody young at the time (no older then 5-6 if even that. Yes I've been a gamer that long)

It was either Paper Mario 64 or Final Fantasy 8. I beat them both around the same time so I don't remember which was first.

I remember Paper Mario fondly... I do not remember FF8 fondly. I had a greater tolerance for its faults when I was younger.

Hmmm, I'm trying to think, but I think the first real game I beat was Ultima III. I definitely played tons of games before that, but that seems to be the first one I played all the way through with a real "ending."

I think it might have been Rugrats on the PS1, but I may have had help...I really don't remember. So, that doesn't really count. The first game I beat on my own was probably Kingdom Hearts 2. That, or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I've been playing games since I was 5 or 6, but I've got such a short attention span and when games got too hard, there was only so many times I'd keep trying before I would move on to another game. So...that kind of explains why it took me so long to beat a game.

Broken Sword. While I'd played games as far back as the NES, I'd never really seen the importance of beating a game until Broken Sword.
