From trainers, to aim bots, to god-mode, what game did you first decide to get an 'extra' advantage with?

I think for me it was Civ2. Struggling way back in the day to actually beat those 'oh so good' AI's (Hey, I was young!), there was always that final release, where you turned cheat mode on, and plunked down a huge stack of tanks next to the enemy capital.

How about you?

I've only used cheat codes in one game in my life.

Freedom Fighters.

I loved that game. :)

And I loved it even more with unlimited RPG ammo.

The earliest I can remember using cheats was in the original Diablo (I was like... 6? or who knows). You had to start the game, alt tab out, start the cheat program and activate what you wanted. This was a ***** to do when you got later into the game since you would often die before you could get god mode turned on.

For me it was Turok for the N64. It was the first game i used after i bought my game shark. Got all the guns from the get go and coulnt die. kind of ruined the game for me but whatev. the first game that i absolutly needed to cheat on was FFX, and for that i just used Game FAQS. does that even count?

Just outright telling would be boring, so I'll give some hints:

Probably for the Infinite Grind Balance cheat back on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3, cuz lets be hones, some of those challenges were hella impossible.

idspispopd, on the other hand, was a little harder to remember...
Classic. I remember never typing it correctly from the first try. I'd always mess up and having to start over.

Wolfenstein 3d, LEDOUX. My first cheat ever for my first game ever. And that game was ridiculously tough when I was so little, I needed that cheat...

First code I ever used.
Contra? Or is it just some game that used the Konami Code?

For me, it was Jet Moto on the PlayStation 1. Good times >:D

The first game that I beat without FAQs or cheats probably Crash Bandicoot, also on the ps1.

Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories

Mainly because that game is almost fucking impossible to beat without cheats.

Contra, I'm aware that the code is used in other games but I only used it to gain 30 lives.
Lives that were often lost very quickly because Contra kicks your ass sideways.

Well, it kicked mine.

Starcraft. I still know them by heart. Off the top of my head

Power overwhelming;
There is no cow level;
Show me the money;
The gathering;
Black sheep wall;
