The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I still remember running around Hyrule back when I was five years old and playing on my brand new N64.

The original Marathon 1 and 2 for Mac by Bungie. I was two, as well, and sat on my dad's lap at the keyboard. He would move us around on the maps, and I would fire whenever there was an alien monstrocity to get in the crosshairs.

Hell yeah.

Don't forget his objective; to save a princess who may or may not by fungi from a fire-breathing turtle-dragon.
You know what, if you think about them too much, damn near every classic game is pretty messed up.

EDIT:

Blasting aliens is a hell of a lot cooler than jumping on turtles and chucking fireballs at what seems to be cupcakes with evil eyes.
Wait, what am I talking about?

Now that I think of it that is just the kind of plot the modern games need! :D

I played a demo of Grandia 1 and something just clicked...I've loved and failed to beat RPGs ever since. Seriously...I only finished like 5 JRPGS. But only because I'd buy a new one before I finished the last one and because of their tendency to have really annoying final dungeons.

Oh thats a hard one...
I guess I should blame Super Mario...but I suspect Sonic had something to do with this too.

LOZ:Ocarina of Time made me who I am today :D I spent hours doing NOTHING in the game just walking over Hyrule soaking it all in.

(I used to read the guide book every night before bed when I was little :p)
