Comander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy
Probably the PC-platformer to speak of.

Shortly aftwards doom. When i was seven, i could do EP1 on ultra-violence.

Command & Conquer. Played it on the PSX when I was about 6 or 7... I played it so much, in fact, that I still remember the Ion Cannon cheat, 13 years on.

I had a SNES before that, and a Sega Master System before that, but I don't really remember playing them that much.

I think that Final Fantasy 7 played a huge part in making me a gamer too. First played it when I was 8, and I had completed it about 4 times by the time I was 10... Not a simple task for an 8 year old. To this day, the original C&C and FF7 remain at the top of my list of favourite games of all time.

I'd have to say the first game that really hooked me was Pokemon Red Version. But the first game I played for HOURS on end was - I really hope no WoW players slaughter me for this - Everquest. MAN, I loved that game.

YES! I have that too!! *highfive*
*highfives*
It's official. We rule.
I also had Mario Allstars, do I rule also? :D
Everyone who Mario All Star'd rules, so yes.
Mario 1,2,3 and the all stars cartridge. I'm going to throw some high fives into the this rulers party.

Games that made me a gamer.
Defender - although I didn't know what it was called.
Rampage - think Streets of Rage with a on screeching tape loader.
Repton 2
Banjax

I can't pick one because these are what started it all - like 23 years ago. My first computer was powered by gas. (not really)

Game that started me gaming? Pac-Man.

Game that made me a gamer, in the hardcore sense of the term? Contra. I've told the story dozens of times, but the tl;dr version: Me, my brother, co-op, no deaths, in front of the neighborhood.

Damn, I'm a geezer. It was either Time Pilot or Kung Fu Master. I was hooked pretty early.

After my hiatus from most gaming through the late 90s, I think it was the first Devil May Cry that brought me back to the fold.

Oh lord, the game of games that got me into staring at my screen for hours was some basic tank game in which my pink tank would take out a black tank on a yellow battlefield with physics amounting to bouncing a tank shell off a wall. Atari 2600 that was on (Yes, it's older than I am..) with flat colours and a top down view of my "tank"

The next game to keep me hooked for ages was Morrowind. Spent ages on that game finishing every last quest then forgetting where I put the Wraithguard..

The Crash Bandicoot PSOne games (and CTR) and Timesplitters were what really got me into spending lots of my cash on games, and when I would consider myself to have become a 'gamer', though before that the biggies were Tetris, Pokemon and Civilization 2.

The Original Super Smash Bros. on the N64. Played it once on a rented console and here I am 10 year later, gaming it up.
