The Ask and the Answer, by Patrick Ness. It's the Second book in the Chaos Walking trilogy.

Honestly, I thought I was done with childrens books. But the first in this series, The Knife of Never Letting Go, is one of the best childrens books...You know what, scratch that, it's one of the best books I have ever read. It's funny and it's tragic and it really asks some huge questions.

If we're talking comic books as well I just finished the first volumn of The Walking Dead. It's pretty damn awesome.

Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei Volume 2, if Mangas count as books. If not, The Dark Tower: The Wastelands. I'm currently reading Twilight, and it's better than the movie, but that's not saying much.

This is why I said I would regret it. I was forced to for a book report though.
:in a sing-song voice: lawwwsuit!

that's so emotional trama.
Poor kid. I thought My experience with book reports was bad.
Last year, my class had to read a biography last year, then we later found out (after we chose our books) we had to defend our character's life against two other people for a grade, sort of like a debate. Guess whose biography/ memoirs I read?

Currently Rereading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory McGuire. Partially to see how well it holds up on a second reading. So far it mostly does.
Ooh i've heard about that, its supposed to be pretty decent. I heard they turned it into a musical or something a few years back.
It's pretty good. Dark but good. As long as you don't mind the idea that OZ as shown in "the Wizard of Oz" is pretty much written off as Propaganda by the Wizard, who is a facist dictator and the witch...well, her story is rather tragic.

There is a musical which is much lighter(and plays up the relationship between the two witches a lot more) and the 2nd act is only vaguely like the 2nd half of the book. Good music though(if you like musicals).

There are two sequels: Son of a Witch and a Lion Among Men. Son feels very much like sequel and a bit of a let down(mostly because it resolves almost none of the plot threads continued from Wicked), while Lion is a lot more interesting and satisfying. A lot like Wicked where the main character(the cowardly lion) got a bad reputation mostly due to circumstances beyond his control.

I am currently reading the english version of The Children of Hurin by J.R.R Tolkien.
I picked that up a while ago but haven't gotten to it yet. How does it compare to Tolkiens other books?

I'm about halfway through 'The light Fantastic' by Terry Pratchet. A most excellent book, as are the whole Discworld series

Everfree, by Nick Sagan.

It's the third in a trilogy that I'd recommend heartily to anyone who likes good books.
What genre is it? If I'm a fantasy/sci-fi addict, will it be in my area?

Finished "Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett earlier today, tomorrow I'll probably start on " The Player of Games" by Ian M. Banks.

A Scanner Darkly. I love trippy books, and that, was the most crazy-upside down-brilliant book I have ever read. Everyone must read that book before they die, in addition to Life of Pi and Tangerine.

Flashman at the Charge by George MacDonald Fraser, I'm currently reading Flashman and the Redskins, sort of going through the series.
How are you finding them? I always keep meaning to buy a Flashman book to see what they're like, but I always seem to miss my chance :(

And the last book I read was Johnny Cash's most recent autobiography, a rather excellent read for those interested in him. The book I'm reading at the moment is Stone by Adam Roberts. Not really a sci-fi fan, but I'm enjoying it :D

The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett, currently reading Wyrd Sisters by him.
So many people on these forums read the Discworld series. It makes me very happy ^_^

Although it pains me to say it, his early stuff isn't quite as good though..

As for me, the last book I read was Feet of Clay, by the masterful mind of Pratchett.

Now starting on A Game of Thrones, I've heard a lot of good things about this series so I decided to see if it lived up to its hype :D
