What was the last ending of a game that was genuinely satisfying?

The ending of Fallout: New vegas and all of the DLCs were satisfying, and exceeded my expectations.

Red Dead Redemption is probably one of the best I've seen in a while, followed closely by the good ending of BioShock.

The last game I beat and coincidentally, thoroughly enjoyed its ending was Journey. What a great game start to finish.

Infamous 2 it ends appropriately and guarantees no sequels to ruin it Bravo Sucker Punch
Mmm, I'm going to have to agree with this one here. Honestly felt sad during the good ending.

Too bad most people are just putting satifying ending rather than the last satisfying ending they have seen . For me the last one that satisfied me was heavy rain ( i played this for the first time 2 weeks ago). I was satisfied in the sense that , what i did had consequences and it showed me the consequences for my actions . I was like , yeah this seems good .

Before that it was a damned long time and i have finished a shitload of games since 2011 ( because my new years resolution was to finish every game i started). I thing it was lost oddesey in early 2011 . Great game , great story , good ending .

Even though someone spoiled it, the ending of Red Dead Redemption was absolutely beautiful. I had initially been a bit skeptical because I'm not generally a fan of the sad endings, but when I actually saw it it was great.

Yeah, it kind of didn't make sense in every way, but let's face it: Having John Marston effortlessly gun down everyone like he had for the rest of the game would be kind of boring.

Hit Man: Blood Money's ending was awesome. Even though it was difficult as fuck to pull off, it was by far one of the most satisfying parts of any game I've played.

To those who know what I mean, "Kill them, kill them all."

Bioshock got a bit weird and drawn-out, but I still liked it.

This might be slightly controversial, but I really liked the ending of Far Cry 2. The game is generally kind of a pet favorite of mine, because most people found it boring/confusing or pointless. I however, being the mono-chromatically dressed nihiist that I am, absolutely loved the ending.

Metal Gear Solid 4, you can't ask for much more closure than that game.
Aren't they making a fifth one, or is it going to be a long ad about 'Check out the new and Improved Raiden! Now with emo progamming and a glow-in-the-dark spine!

But honestly, Infamous 2. I actually applauded. It is the PROPER way to do a polarizing end, ie give it a reason to *Glares at the 'genius' who came up with that idea for ME3.*

Metro 2033's ending was good, it was sad, dark, hopeless and it stung a little. And the hidden good ending was a beautiful "what if" that just blew me away...

STALKER: Call of Pripyat had a good ending as well, so did Dragon Age: Origins, and the german TES mod: Nehrim.

All were great.

Man, Metro still gives me chills sometimes...

It probably wasn't the last one, but Bastion comes to mind.

Funnily enough, it actually did the last minute choose-your-ending thing, but it did it well.
Quite correct. And it becomes even better in NG+ if you chose the "rewind" option. Rucks occasionaly going "Wait, haven't I...?", clearly having a case of deja vu.

Ah, but it also was last in my case.

And, while not exactly a satisfying ending, it was satisfying to get Pacifist+Foxiest of Hounds on hard on my first DXHR play, while also having saved the fly girl back there. The Endingtron 3000 tho, bleh...

Gotta go with Metro 2033.

I'm like oh S&$% big mistake how to fix? And they programmed the fix. Relief like I have not felt in a while playing a game.

I don't remember "emo" in the trailers, and that's despite Raiden being actually quite emo. He seemed more pissed and determined than anything. And also able to throw walking tanks into the air and slice them into cubes. I think Quinton Flynn just sounds that way, honestly. The only cheerful game character I've heard him play was Ultimate Alliance Spider-Man.
