Final Fantasy 13.

The Aster Protoflorian (an early boss) kicked my ass numerous times, but I eventually beat him.

Then I got to the Scalebeasts and they kicked my ass

I just couldn't get the hang of it and decided I wasn't cut out for it.

For me that would be the original Rayman for the PS1.

I loved this game in my childhood, and in a way I still kinda do. But I never really got far in the game as a kid, and now I know why.

THIS GAME IS FUCKING HARD AS NAILS.

Seriously, this game is unforgiving at best. It starts out fairly easy, not too bad. But then the difficulty spikes at Band Land, and suddenly I was getting my ass killed over and over due to ridiculously pinpoint precise platforming, insta-kill spikes, and those bullshit fly enemies that dodge every single attack you throw at them.

You have a limited amount of lives in the game, which you're really really really going to need. And once you run out, you decide whether to go back to the main menu, load up your last save and start the level you screwed up on all over again, or continue and start off at the section of the level you last died on. You have limited continues however and as far as I know, there isn't any way to get more of them besides cheats.

As I said previously, you NEED all the lives you can get in the game, but you don't want to waste all of them and your continues on the early levels, so in a way, you're kinda forced to go back to the main menu to start the whole level again just so you don't use up a continue.

This wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't force you to find every single last fucking electoon in the game in order to have access to the final level in the game. I want to be a completionist in some games because I want to be, not because I have to.

Speaking of the electoons, a lot of them are placed in locations you can't reach until you learn a specific move from Betilla the Fairy. So you have to go back to certain levels later on in order to complete them. And if the little rant about Band Land wasn't enough to convince you how much I hate that place, then the fact that I don't want to have to experience it again just to complete it should.

Some of the electoons don't even appear until you walk or jump in a certain way or position. So you're going to have to look up a guide in order to figure out what the hell you're supposed to do to make them appear.

It was right about after one of the Blue Mountains levels that I couldn't take it anymore. It was far too agonizing for me to continue on. (That and Mass Effect 3 was almost released at the time I was playing, so I got permanently sidetracked from it)

And yet, after all that bullshit, I still can't help but like the game. I love it's art style and it's soundtrack. And in a way they both make me want to play more. But every time that happens I am reminded of the game's cruel and unfair difficulty. So I can't bring myself to play it. Kinda makes me sad in a way.

Dark Souls. No real reason. I think I just started playing something else at the same time, then got too absorbed into that and started playing that instead.
That and I'm at Blighttown at the moment. 'Nuff said.

Where do I begin? Here's the short list: Devil May Cry, Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill 2, Witcher 2, Batman Arkham City and Borderlands.

Too Human and The Last Remnant are two games that I've never completed but will never go back to. Too Human was just really shit and I couldn't really get into The Last Remnant. Apart from those two, every other game I have not yet completed I plan on going back to at some point.

Max Payne 3. Somewhere between the turret sections, the bullet time mechanics that completely break in hard mode, and the meh story, I completely stopped caring. Wast of money as far as I'm concerned.

Dark Souls, fuck you Gywn! I got to the final boss so it counts as finishing the game!

MGS2 also, I gave up on that Metal Gear fight where you fight soloa gainst like, 50 Metal Gears. The game just being generally shit before that didn't help but fuck dem Metal Gears bro!

I am playing too much League of Legends to complete any other game at the moment. Need to finish Catherine, Bayonetta on Hard Mode, all the Arkham City challenge maps etc etc

All that is secondary to becoming the best Irelia on the EUW servers! Thought you finally killed the unkillable Irelia? Guardian Angel bitcheeesszzzzahhh!

I need access to a PS2 again so I can play Persona 4 again. Fuck the Vita re-release I need the original!

Kane & Lynch 2. I actually really liked what I played of it. Unfortunately, I read a review that said that it lasts about 6 hours and at hour 5 I kind of got bummed out that the game's short length was going to let me down. I still haven't finished it. I guess it's an ignorance is bliss kind of thing idk.

Yeah, he is pretty hard at first, but once you know that you can actually parry him he's pretty much a pushover.

Deus Ex: HR - I dunno, I got pretty far in, then I just got stuck somewhere and my ammo is steadily diminishing, so I just never finished it.

Dark Souls - not as far in, actually. I'm at the part where you fight the bell gargoyles, and the fact that you need to be (I forget the term, it's been that long...) human-looking to summon that one NPC to help you just gave me a mental block, and I can't bring myself to just do it.

Shadow Hearts 1 for the PS2 just because the whole system is too slow. This is a real shame because I've heard the other two are eons better.

Kungfu, please read the post below your post. This is hilarious how many people actually own The Last Remnant and have that on their list.
How much better is it on PC? I mean, I got it when it first came out on Xbox and just couldn't get into it, the combat system drove me nuts and that's not really a point in it's favour. But I never play my consoles anymore since I switched to PC gaming, so if it's a massive improvement on PC I suppose I could try it again.

Well the only two I can think of are Dragon age origins and the Witcher 2

Now the Witcher 2 I really wanted to get into but it was something about the combat, seemed a little to rinse and repeat to me.

And Dragon age (to me) was just boring, I could not get into the story.
