What was your first mature Anime?

My first was probably Gundam Wing on Toonami, if that doesn't count i had a break for years and then watched Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away after being introduced to them by my girlfriend.

You know, that's a question I've been asking myself for quite some time now. I still haven't found an answer.

OT: If there was any anime to be found where I live (there isn't), or if I had anime channels (I don't), then I'd probably come up with something like Death Note or another popular "mature" series. Seeing all the kiddie anime that gets chucked on TV has put me off the idea of watching it, though. It just doesn't sit well with me.

I guess i'll have to go with "The Boondocks" it's the only anime i've watched since pokemon many years ago.
It's partly censored, but i guess it's still as "mature" as South Park.

In that case, I'd have to say Cowboy Bebop. I would probably say Dragonball Z or Gundam Wing, as well as many of the anime they had on Cartoon Network or it's Adult Swim lineup, but they edited various material in those cartoons when they were on tv. Cowbody Bebop was the first anime I watched on DVD that was unedited for US network broadcast.

"Evangelion" The episodes where unit 01 killed unit 03 and Zeruel(or w/e it's name was) specifically... I think i was 11 at that time.

Also around that time I watched "tenchi muyo!" uncut. I remember being surprised at the amount of nudity in the unedited version.
