some people's parents were/are strict about it, others didn't care. I was never able to get a M-rated game until i got into middle school, and I'm sure it was much later for some people.

the first mature-rated game I got was Halo 3, and that was when i was in 7th grade (i even went to the midnight release). from that point on, it hasn't mattered.

so now, i ask my fellow escapists: what was your first mature-rated game?

Wolfenstein 3D or the original DOOM when I was like...3 or 4. Something like that. Can't remember which I played first. You know, provided those count...not sure they actually had ratings.

I think it was Red Faction, but it was long ago. My parents were strict :( I just got to play GTA IV this year although I can play almost every other mature game before that. The one mom is hung up on right now is Prototype lol. She hates how you can use hammers to squish people. Time to try to convince her again lol.

The first Mature game that I can remember playing was a Duke Nukem game on the PC. I played it during computer lab at my middle school, I even got a friend to give me the password to unlock the 'adult content'.

I think it was Oblivion, but it might have been Fable: The Lost Chapters

Turok on the N64 when I was 6. I got it from my grandmother who was horrified when she saw what it was like.

Leisure Suit Larry the point and click version. My parents gave me the answers I needed for the adult check in the beginning, don't know if they thought I had taken a quiz or if I was playing that game.

Marathon on the Mac.
I don't know exactly how old I was, but it was before I entered kindergarten.

I don't know... it may have been the first Halo.

It was a rent, so I honestly can't complain or anything. And the story is fun to play through, no matter what other Escapists may think.
