Mirror's Edge

I think it was inside the ship... a long corridoor where you climb a bunch of pipes, then have to execute a perfect wall run and jump the other way onto a red bar.

I was stuck there for an hour.

Also... 2 or 3 of the Collossi from SOTC stumped me real bad.
Both of these are so true. Another one in Mirror's Edge would be when the SWAT team is after you on a rooftop and you have to run along a vent, run on the wall, turn and jump at exactly the right point to reach the opposite vent. Also, one could say that the first Colossus is the deciding factor on if you'll understand how to play the game.

Recently I've had a certain boss in FF13 stop me in my tracks... twice (the doom spell in the second form was cheating!). Also, Darksiders never told me I could shoot a portal through a portal. I died so many times on a section that should have been easy. (I would also include Brutal Legend, but there were too many because it didn't even hint at me on how to do certain things)

What was the point in a game where you raised your head, screamed, and yelled, "HOW DO I DO THIS!" Those things that might seam mundane, but to you, it seamed impossible. The door who's key you didn't have, the one jump you couldn't make, the one enemy you couldn't beat, the one portal who's on switch was just out of sight. What are the moments that pushed you to madness just trying to figure out what your suppose to do?
First: It's seem.

Second: The Zeus fight at the end of God of War II. I died more than 50 times. I haven't even gotten God of War III yet, because I now hate Quick Time Events with a passion.

Mass Effect 2 Firewalker DLC, when they botched up the control mapping. I kept trying to mine stuff, but instead ended up rocketing skywards, or boosting forward into cliffs.

Took me about 20 mins of frustration and WTF-ing before I thought to check the control maps, find out the were wrong, and change them.

Several Oblivion quests made me resort to online walk throughs, but that is more due to my sheer incompetence when it comes to figuring puzzles out, and less to do with Bethesda.

That mission in GTA4 where you have to get the coke from the old hospital. So irritating.

Also, I somehow beat Jedore on my first try on insanity mode. (Mass effect 2, for those who don't know).
I'm still befuzzled how.

Trying to get across the ice so that Sheena could form a pact with Celsius. This happened last night, actually.

Nothing to do with video games, but while I was learning parallel parking, I yelled a few times, "OH MY GOD, how the fuck am I supposed to do this??!!!" with that many question and exclamation marks. Other than that, I tend to just grunt and "grr" at things that get under my skin.

Metro 2033 with the one-hit-killing, swarming amoebas. Amazing tactical-horde-mix shooter otherwise.

I was furious and felt very silly when I found out you learn a technique a little later to help you climb the thing.
HAHAHA I know the exact one you're talking about. Its the one by the huge basilica, right? That tower is a total a-hole.

One quest in Oblivion
Its called the Hunters Run or something. I consulted my much loved (and half torn up) strategy guide and it said 'push a button to open the gate bla bla bla this is the rest of the mission'
The misson took place on a small island, and I looked around for 35-40 min searching for the damn thing, and I couldn't find it.

EDIT (5 sec after posting): I still can't. I've tried 4 or 5 more times :(

The original Mega Man. Guts Man stage...the platforms at the beginning. GAAH! Just could not get the timing right no matter how many times I tried. I finally gave up in frustration, went through ElecMan's stage once to get his weapon, then went through the Elec Man stage AGAIN so I could get the damn Magnet Beam and use that to get past the platforms.

EDIT: I looked it up, it's the Frari. And here's the blasted tower in real life:

The tall pointy thing on the left if you weren't sure
Heh, I did the same. I spent at least 10 minutes trying to jump up, falling, climbing back up, trying to jump again. I went all around the tower then I searched online and the first forum post I found mentioned that "oh, you can't climb that until you learn a new jumping skill".

And I also have to mention the old point'n'click graphic adventure games. Monkey Island 1&2 had a few weird combinations: "use rubber chicken with pulley in the middle with rope". The worst offender was Day of the Tentacle, simply because it was very surreal. Realising that in the past you had to swap a right-handed hammer for a left-handed hammer, so that the statue would be in a different pose, so that you could push the old lady out of the room; or trying to get all the bits together (spaghetti hair, horse teeth, clown laugh box + fake vomit) so the mummy could win the beauty pageant.

It all makes sense after you've done it, but sometimes when you look at your inventory all you can do is "use X with Y" on everything until something works. Still, getting your head around using time travel to solve the puzzles was the best part of DotT - so the ultimate satisfaction more than outweighed the initial frustration.

This. I managed to beat him, but the QTEs at the end of the battle meant I had to watch Kratos die a dozen times before I managed to get all the buttons right in order.

Also, those goddamn rotating spike towers in Hades in GoW1 - collision detection was fucked up on that because there were times when I was miles away from a spike and I still fell off. But then (this is the GoW Collection) I still managed to get the achievement for getting through the tower the first time. o_O

Okami leaves me completly clueless every time i play it.

I'd give an example, but even after completing it like twice i still can't remember what the hell to do on the bits that i get stuck on.

I just recently did the Co-op campaign of Splinter Cell Conviction with a friend. We always shoot out the lights before entering rooms, so we spent a good while looking for how to exit a room before finally accidentally latching onto the pipe we were supposed to climb.
You lucky bastard... how is it? We don't have it yet >.<
In My opinion, it's fun in abundance, although the Co-op campaign can be frustrating in places, especially in the forced combat towards the end.
Forced combat? In other words the Stealth is still intact? It didn't go and pull a Metal Gear Solid 4: GoTP?

I actually haven't finished God of War I because of those rotating spikes. I have no idea how I did it when the game first came out, but I tried doing it a few months ago and died so many times I realized that it wasn't worth my time or my sanity.
