What I have to say about this trashy crapfest of a videogame I said here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/9.85252.1234859].
Actually, it is quite repetetive. All you have to do is play until you complete the story. Then, like you said, you just buy out all that is for sale in Bowerstone. After that, all you can do is play little family type Sim games with the villagers and run around making more money that you don't need to buy weapons that aren't as good as what you have. You don't give any examples stating how Fable 2 in not repetitive either. I enjoyed the game for the month that I played it, but it just got boring because it felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything new or worthwhile.kanada514 said:Fable II is not one thing. I sold it after a month just because I lost interest in it. I still have the first Fable though!![]()
I have rarely seen a game that has as many things to do in it. You can play for 5 hours without unsheathing your sword, there are tons of cool features. The story line is short, but I still managed to play for 60 hours before I went on the Hero of Might quest.
By that time, I had already bought all that was for sale at that time in Bowerstone.
There are tons of flaws in Fable II, (for many of which I agree with OP) but it sure as hell is not repetitive.
Yes, not enough weapons, not enough skills, spells, not enough moves (I hold the one button fighting responsible for that).
Yes, it is bad Peter, the contextual moves were really making me angry whenever I would perform one, because I didn't ask for it and because that kick on the foot was really not helpful.
Don't get me started on the collisions either. And what's up with stopping the player when running against a wall? What kind of visual feeback for player input is that?
There should be a TRC for that!
Press A to win... sums it up rly... I was more then disappointed, I thought it was some sort of sick joke. Like the credits would end and some guy would show up and say "Just kidding, we wouldn't fuck things up this badly. here's 10hrs more of quests."deadsparrow said:i HATED the ending.
i was all like "oh whoa my dogs dead. and now hes giving a speech" i thought that like..this was the middle of the game and he was gonna disapear and then i'd go back to questing and what not...only to face him again as some giant monster.
NOPE. instead i hit a. he dies and falls to his death. GAME OVER.
wtf was that. seriously.
fable 2 was one of the most half assed games ive ever played
Too true. The story was one of the weakest I've seen in an RPG, let alone an RPG named after a type of story.deadsparrow said:i HATED the ending.

I'm not saying those things aren't fun and bring variety, but they only do it for so long. How long is it fun until you keep going back to the same villagers, doing the same emotions, and getting the same results until it gets repetitive for you? All you have to do to make money is buy the shops which generate their own money which is rather easy to do. Casino games are fun for a while as well, but once you accumulate a huge sum of money that you don't need to spend, what is the point? And for character customization, you said it yourself that there are not enough weapons, spells, skills and moves.kanada514 said:Well, you just gave the examples for me on why it is NOT repetitive.wowcrendor said:Actually, it is quite repetetive. Basically, I meant a great variety of gameplays. Action adventure, social Sims style, Market simulator (buying houses, raising goods values, modifying economies, buying lower to sell higher and such, gambling (casino games), character customization.
This was a disappointment to me as well. Who's idea was it to make you fight the same boss a dozen times? That's not fun or creative. It's just lazy.DoomDispenser said:The absence of ANY bosses at all. Unless you count the Trolls (which I don't). Seriously, they didn't even try here. Anyone with a name was just a beefed up normal enemy, with slightly more health and maybe stronger attacks. As if any of them were challenging enough to hit you anyway.
