Xenosaga, but it just got so damn repetitive! Too much work and not enough continual interest. Plus the cut-scenes were like 20 minutes long.
I've never understood Xenosaga's popularity. It was alright, but it didn't really do ANYTHING original, it was extremely base as far as turn-based JRPGs go.

Pokemon Red/Blue was one of my firsts, and it was darn good fun.

It sounds like the US didn't get into RPGs until 2 decades or so after Japan did.

i think i was about 6. The Adventures of Alundra was the game that cemented my ongoing love of RPGs.

Gaaah.... Does tabletop count? Does tabletop count if I only read the sourcebook, and never got to play it with anyone?
No?
Okay, well, the first I ever tried was some title for the Gameboy (the ORIGINAL, LCD Gameboy) which my cousin foisted on me one evening. I really can't remember what it was called; you played a student in some fantasy setting who set out on a journey with a selection of fellow students (whom you could name, one of whom was a pistol-carrying robot), in the company of a teacher with magical abilities. The combat was turn-based. I honestly don't remember anything else, I didn't like it very much at the time.

The first one I really went for was the Daggerfall demo, on the PC in 1996. I eventually bought it. It really set the bar for open worlds, character design, even depth.

It was this really old game on the Amiga. I do not remember the title but I can remember that I was this prince is a castle, and you were looking from above and could only walk one floortile at a time. Mostly you had to find keys to progress to the next level, which could take hours. By today`s standards it would be boring but at the time it was completly enthralling...if only I could remember the game, any ideas?
Valhalla and The Lord of Infinity - Nostalgia right here [http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/valhalla-and-the-lord-of-infinity] ;-)

I've lost track in the whole numbering system for Final Fantasy, so, in saying this I'm talking about when I was a child late 80s early 90s

The first Final Fantasy that originally came out on Nintendo.....? I think that was the system. I bounce so much from my systems that I can't keep track of that....I just know it was a Nintendo system.....

EDIT: Also, D&D at the age of 5 I think we started......Originally just me and my best friend who I am still best friends with who lived two houses down from me.
