Dragon Warrior, NES, 1989. Got it as a belated twelfth birthday present (wasn't quite out yet in July, came out in August) and spent the rest of the summer beating it. That game started a ten-year love affair with JRPGs that I eventually outgrew in favor of deeper strategy games on PC.

baudurs gate 2... for some strange reason, i couldnt get myself to go back to the original once i went through the second.. maybe it was bg1's tedious factor (characters walk super slow)..
