There are three options to play Baldur's Gate 1 using the Baldur's Gate 2 engine. I would really encourage you to try them. BG1 is a true gem, and you can export your character to continue playing it in BG2 (and you start with a bit more XP than when you would create a new char).

Hmm... Fallout I think... Or Syndicate. If that counts as an RPG. I don't count it as one personally, but according to this wikipedia-list it's a "Tactical RPG" =/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_computer_role-playing_games:_1990_to_1999 (look near the end of the 1993 part of the list)

I would say Zelda is my first.

My would be Final Fantasy 10 since I was around 9 I never really played any other RPG but it became one of my favoriate game genre after I play Paper mMrio and the thousend year old door.
