It was the grizzled and utterly bleak world view the game holds that really reminded me of those films. Gaming's 'Citizen Kane' moment has probably come and gone by now, and we won't know what it was for another ten years. And hell, given how disparate gaming genres are in their language, I imagine there will be way more than one definitive game.
The Last of Us is still one of the finest games I've ever played though.
