What weapon would you use in case of zombie apocalypsis?

I would go for an axe as the melee weapon and the "chicago typewriter" from "Resident evil 4". It's the most powerful gun in the game and it has infinite ammo. What's not to like?

I'd probably go with a mace, a fire axe, a sledgehammer, a cricketbat, a crowbar or some other (reasonably) blunt weapon that can be used to crack skulls at a fast rate. I wouldn't go for guns because they attract more zombies than they kill and become useless once you haven't got any ammunition for it. I also wouldn't go for swords or knifes since zombies don't care if they lose an arm and swords can get stuck in objects and bodies, and especially no molotovs because zombies can't feel pain and will keep attacking you even if on fire.

Holy crap! What does that shoot? .338 Lapua?
.600 Nitro Express [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.600_Nitro_Express]... an elephant gun round. By the by, that gun was made internet famous by this video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCInkw3641w].

OT: personally, if I could have something that I don't already possess... I'd want a Kriss SBR/SO with a threaded barrel. If I can't have a sound suppressor right off the bat, I'd still like to keep my options open.
it looks like this

and uses the same mags as my Glock 21

If I could have any gun, realism be damned, I'd have a SCAR-L and a Glock 18.
Melee weapon? Machete, a good 2.5 feet long.
Hopefully, I'd have silencers for both guns, and a hell of a lot of ammo.
Then I'd be happy.

Either:
Ranged: M4 w/ ACOG + M203 Grenade launcher
Sidearm: M1911
Melee: Handaxe/Tomahawk

or

Ranged: (can't remember what it's called but...) A shotgun that fires an AA round (only has 2 rounds in chamber)
Sidearm: .44 Magnum
Melee: Riot Shield

I'm not particularly skilled in firearms, so I guess I'd take a .22 bolt-action rifle for ease of maintenance/replacement/abundance of ammo. For a melee weapon, I figure something like a sledgehammer would be good so I don't have to get too close to the zombies and don't have to worry about sharpening it.

But my preferred option would always be running away. Let someone who actually knows how to fight deal with the shambling horrors.

Might I also add that those bullets retail at 300$ for TEN? That's thirty dollars a shot. But what else would you expect from the largest handgun in the world? lol :p
