what weapons would you use against zombies?

First off, I'd gear up in military grade commando body armour, which is light, flexible and bite proof.
Secondly, an automatic shotgun is the zombie hunter's best friend: at close range it turns anything into a bloody mess. Jackhammer might do the job.

A secondary weapon is necessary, preferrably a pistol. the larger the calibre, the better. A Deagle is far too heavy and the clip is too small, so a colt .45 automatic is my best bet. Also a sawed off shotgun as a last resort.

I need something to pick them out at long range, so a rifle is needed. There is no need to go to .50, .338 or .308 are enough. Come to think of it, a .223 rem is enough. An HK 416 carbine with all sorts of extras, like scopes, laser aiming modules and night vision capabilities would be ideal. Or if I want to really lay waste to walking dead, the 417, basically the same, but in a bigger calibre. Or if I want a specialised sniper rifle, the SVD dragunov or the Sako TRG 42 are damn near perfect.

If it comes to it, I might need a close combat weapon, in which case I'll go for a 15th century longsword.

I would need a vehicle too. A Toyota Hilux pickup truck is ideal. It's reliable, rugged and fast enough to escape zombies+powerful enough to plow through them. Also, it's possible to mount a Browning M2 machine gun on the back.

well? what kind of weapon/weapons would you use to fend off a horde of hungry Zombies? can be anything from guns, blades, fire, ect. try and think of whats best, and then whats most bad ass! (gotta look awsome infront of the scared onlookers or the hell are you doin outside?)

personally i'd follow the Zombie Survival Guide and roll with a M1A1 carbine, a USP .45 handgun with silencer and laser, and a machette for survival. and for looks i would definitly go with either a G36C (silencer, laser, vertical foregrip and Eotech sight) or a Kriss TDI Super V submachine gun with same attachments. (both guns would most likely not be recomended by the ZSG due to plastic parts.) for a secondary, would go Desert eagle, gold if possible :p, and my final weapon, would be "Blood And Thunder" by Mastodon blasting in the background.
I would ban them from repeating endless zombie threads

golf club they're fairly light and they got some reach so i could actually use it.

and a shot gun went and shot some recently and was ably to hit the clay pigeons so zombies would be slightly easier to hit

made my arm sore though and i was holding it against my bicep DX so dont do that and ill be fine

preferably, I'd try to loot a guys riot gear, I trudged my fat form from home to school for over a decade, chances are I can hold the shield in the way of the clumsy fools better than the lot of you. It might not be great all the time but for the few times it IS useful I'll be glad I have it. I already have a machete but I would like an axe
an axe wouldnt work well because it would get stuck you would want a cutting slashing weapon

Deagles. And a longsword. And the deagles would be dual-wielding. And I would have a back-up pair just in case. And lots of ammo. And liquid nitrogen charges. And a hose (liquid nitrogen plus a fountain of water equals easy blockade hehe).
I think dual-wielding deagles would be a bad idea.... If you don't break your wrists, it could be bad-ass though...

Good way to get noticed, I think a lower-caliber less noisy weapon is in order....

Crossbow, modified to launch rocks ... hard.

I know I've got ammunition.

L98A1 in mint condition because they're pretty accurate and reliable and I know what I'm doing with one and 5.56mm and .223 are going to be all over the place in the USA where these films tend to be set ... and a .22SSS rifle because that stuff's everywhere over here where I tend to be.

Thermal imager and/or image-intensifier on one of those weapons, rechargeable batteries and a solar recharger.

High-capacity 9mm and a Colt 1911 .45 and a .357Mag revolver so I can use 9mm, .45, .375Mag and .38 ammo I find.

This:
... or something very similar, possibly longer.

I'd head for Scilly. The climate's good, the islands are big enough to sustain a small population and any zombie trying to walk there has to contend with a lot of fish.

Now, to go for "badass" ideas: the monofilament whip from Johnny Mnemonic. That'd work pretty well! Hmm ... infinite grenades mode from HALO Deathmatch and lots of plasma bombs (you really don't want to launch a legless zombie into your own face with a frag bomb, do you?) ... the laser rifles from X-Com: Enemy Unknown because they're powerful enough to take the side off a warehouse and never run out ... original Quake Thunderbolt and quad damage because it wouldn't splorch a zombie without quad damage ... the Bed of Blades, Horizon's Blades and Evisceration spells from Asheron's Call (aim at neck height) and Slithering Flames for extra show ... A full set of 80+ Olthoi Armour dyed black, an Aegis of Golden Flame and a fire axe, hammer, mace, katana or nekode from AC with the minor addition of a clear plastic visor ... or two six-shooters made from the Angel of Death's sword, a wide-brimmed hat, a trenchcoat, a waistcoat, a bootlace tie, knee-high boots with Cuban heels and spurs and a writer with a big thing about Clint Eastwood westerns.

What else? Warthog? Banshee? Hurricane? Sopwith Camel? Challenger II? Merkava? Nah ...

Even zombies would realise they were ****ed.

If we're talking about fast (i.e. 28 Days, L4D) then I'd have to pick an assault rifle or SMG.

If we're talking about slow (i.e. Ultimate Zombie Survival Guide), I'd pick anything that could crush or decapitate a zombie in one blow. I've actually given this alot of thought; there's an opening onto the 1st floor roof at the end of my dorm hallway, and only one person can get through at a time. So, theoretically, I'd be able to kill each zombie as it came out, and I'd never run the risk of being overwhelmed.

-HK MR556 with a red dot sight and 90 round drum magazines, still not sure if I want M855's for the hydrostatic shock or M995's for the potential spine breakage

-Mossberg 590A1 SPX (comes with an M1 bayonet), 3" 000 buckshot

-HK MK23 .45 with some JHP's
