A. A Lava Lap LightSaber on my belt
and
B. in my hands at the ready with quiver at my side Taulmaril the Heartseeker.

My rapier: if I can manage to use my epee training to guide the blade into eye shots, it'll be a one hit kill every time! Then I'd get eaten because I should have known not to rely on melee weapons...^_^;;

The "lobo" from the World War Z novel (I think that is what it was called).

It is sort of like a wedged shovel ax hybrid kind of tool.
This. I'd be the only one out there not using a gun and killing zombies with a shovel.
Better yet, what about the multi-purpose granddaddy of a all zombie killing weapons. It can kill aliens, zombies, and mutated genitalia diseases. The CROWBAR. I would also like Gordon Freeman's beard because it protects you from radiation.
For something long ranged, probably a crossbow or a shotgun, but I don't feel like I'd need either, so it doesn't matter.
My favorite tool for face-to-face range would be a trench-spike. This lovely tool was used in WWI to pierce soldier's steel helmets with a quick forward or down-ward thrust. Against a decaying skull, this would be insta-kill. Furthermore, it can be made with some wood and a nail.
For my vehicle, I would use my 29er bike, because it's awesome and uses no fuel.

Pretty much anything I could get my hands on. But I'd try to go more towards the shotgun, axe, some incindiary grenades, or maybe a banjo or two.

Salt, I would use Salt.

I always use Salt and I have a reason
Why?
I thinks its a one piece reference, salt purified the zombies, so that the shadows that animated the corpses would be released to return to their original masters

Realistic scenario: Crowbar, shotgun, scoped rifle, shark mesh armor.

Non-realistic scenario: Mk. VI MJOLNIR armor, shotgun, scoped rifle, katana, and a Covenant Phantom as a personal aerial fortress.

A scythe. A large, massively sexy, extremely bad-ass scythe.
i am with this.....SCYTHE'S FTW!
They're for vampires, not zombies.
stakes are for vampires actually. scythes are for badass' :D
It was an Interview With The Vampire reference. I'd have provided the youtube clip to make it more obvious, but couldn't find it. I see no reason why setting them on fire while they're down and using a scythe to decapitate the ones that try to get up wouldn't work on zombies ... or werewolves, ghouls, giant white mice, nexus crawlers or child-molesting priests for that matter.

when I was a child I heard an old radio program and I remember some of the characters saying that the salt hurt the zombies for some reason.
