I don't have the faintest clue what "DOS" is, but people seem to be posting old games, so I guess I will too.

"I have No mouth, and I must scream."

The best game ever made, hands down, this game is fucking awesome.
You just made me feel old.
Open the command console on windows... DOS looked a bit like that.

That just made me lol. Kids today...

Star Trek: The Next Generation - A Final Unity

This was my favourite, such an amazing adventure-game. The space battles were stupidly hard, though.

[EDIT]

Oh, and Big Red Racing! I played the fuck out of that game!

MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System) was the predecessor to Windows. It was a command line environment, not a GUI-based one. It does look like "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" was a DOS game.

My own picks would be One Must Fall, Tyrian, and Worms. X-Com would have been had I been exposed to it earlier.

Haven't played that many DOS games. Less than I should. That said, the first X-COM game.

Wish I had one =( Of course I played Doom, Unreal Tourney, Quake, Hexen and games like those, but I really didn't get into PC gaming until I played the original Age of Empires demo disk and was OMFG WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING. Got hooked on that for years.
